We had a double room in Aristoteles hotel. It was clean, with a nice furnitures. Hotel has nice location, but according to Guides this district is not the safest one - we had no accident anyway. There is a bigger shope, Carrefour 10 min walk to the north.

Distances by walk:
- Acropolis, about 40 min.
- Metro station, <10 min
- Santygma Square (airport shuttle), <20 min
- Bigger shope, Carrefour market <15min

There are few places to eat or drink just by the hotel as well.

Breakfast included in the price was very nice. Scrambled eggs, some fruits and vetetables, sausages etc. Service was kind, always tried to help and advise, or to call the taxi.

In minus, description of the room was not in compliance with what we receive. There was no water boiler as declared, no balcony (streets are noisy so it wasnt bad).

That was a great pick anyway, for approx 10EUR per person/night with a breakfast in a May - i highly recommend.

Room Tip: Athens is a very noisy city, I recommend to pick the room with the window on the backyard. Buildings...

This hotel is situated a bit far from center and if you don't like walking its probably better to go a hotel a bit closer to the Akropolis area. The area itself is pretty rundown but you can get onto the main road pretty quickly. Would not recommend walking around on your own at night.

The hotel itself is small and decently furnished. The people are friendly and helpful. You have the option to book some tours at reception although I did not use this. They serve basic breakfast for 7 euros and there's a little snackbar next door that does souvlaki, pitas and burgers. Also there's a small shop across the street and another larger one down the road.

The single room I was in had a doublebed that was a bit too hard for my taste but it was clean and they change the sheets every 2 days. It has a TV and a mini fridge but they switch the power off after you've left the room so its not much use. The bathroom is really tiny and only has a shower... What bugged me most was that the walls aren't really sound proof and I could hear both of my neighbours.

All said it's a really cheap (cheapest i could find) so what you get is pretty good.

Room Tip: Excellent choice for a solo trip of under 5 days

The room itself had 3 cots pushed together as one big bed. The room had a super mini tv attached at an angle that was not conducive to watching from anywhere but in the closet! The remote control for the tv didn't work, however the remote for the air did. The hotel did have a decent breakfast and the staff was able to contact key tours and secure my pick up for my four day tour. Everything electrical ran on the key being placed into a cradle. This was inconvenient since you couldn't charge your phone or camera battery while you were out and about. All in all it was ok, but could have been much better.

If you go for the basics, it is not that bad. Rooms are small and really basic, but if you just want to sleep there, should be fine. However, loads of kids on their school trips could bring some problems. ''Continental'' breakfast was ridiculous, almost no control at the entrance, and maybe not the safest and cleanest neighbourhood in Athens.

The hotel is basic, for those who want to spend a couple of days in Athens for sightseeing on a budget is a good option, 7 to 8 mins walking from omonia train station., I got a good size room on the 6th floor for $28 US per night ,It was clean and The AC was working good.,the bed is on the hard side and The area is a little sketchy specially at night so taking a taxi will be recommended if you gonna be coming back after 11pm. But overall I will stay there again.

Don't let the location fool you. Located in a dingier neighbourhood outside the tourist hub, Aristoteles is only a 15 minute walk away from Monastiraki Square and 5 minutes from the closest Metro line. The hotel is dingy on the outside but well maintained inside - our room was very clean and the bathroom was one of the nicest I've seen in Athens. WiFi worked well both in the lobby and in our room. Value for money = excellent.
