It was decent and the staff was nice. wifi only worked on ground floor and the showers sucked.

Good location as close to action but also crap part of town. Didnt go back second time in Greece.

Tips hat,

Hostel zeus is quite closest to the metro station Akropoli, so coming directly from the airport via metro is quite simple to get in any time.
Room are not so clean and services as well are ok just for people who like to live the athens atmosphere in a cheaper way...by the way is populated from guys coming from all over the world. the layout is a mix of old and new, especially the colour of the walls!
As a gift, personnel offer a free typical drink.
Also available 2 free internet places (everytime busy...) and a terrace at bottom floor.
I suggest it for inter-rail and short staying!

Stayed there two nights last week. Nice staff. Easy access to Internet (but the wifi is not possible to catch when you are in your room). But old building and cleaning not so great + some windows are broken, etc. The worst part was bed bugs the first night (we change room after). I don't know if we brought some home but it is not a good memory.

this hostel is central with friendly staff,a bit rundown but ok,but if u plan on getting sleep make sure your room is nowhere near the bar as pumping music comes out of it till late,on the plus side the bar has very cheap beer

The one thing I not of the place was the area around the hotel. Sidey at night and appears to be in an industrial area - and with family we not venture out after dark (sad for Athens).
But everything else was absolutely perfect. The free internet (wi-fi too) at the lobby (if you get a seat though) and with air-con extra for only 4 EUROS it was a steal!
The room was amazing and lots of toilets per floor to choose from. It is also walking distance to most of the major attractions.
If not for the area, would stay again but will recommend to anyone with that word of caution.

I paid for two people (£18 pound each) and had a double bed and room to myself. £36 a night for 5 nights in Athens - Bargain!

The hostel is perfectly located for the sites, right on the edge of the touristy streets of monistraki making it easy to walk to all of the sites.

The team who work there, specifically George and Chris are awesome and very helpful.

The roof-bar is open every night from 8pm and provides a great social scene. Whilst there is internet access, it is discouraged in favour of actually taking to people and having fun and 2euro for a 500ml bottle of local beer definately helps!

They do walking tours and organise day-trips out of Athens which are great. I did the option to go to Delphi on my last day there.

It is not the Ritz, but has everything you need and as long as you keep yourself busy during the day, the evenings are a blast!

Don't expect luxury and comfort at Hostel Zeus but you get what you pay for. We found this one of the cheapest accomodation in Athens during our visit in June 2009. Rooms are basic and equipped with a wash basin (useful). The bathrooms were a little scarier and leaked water but no complaints for the price we paid.

The location is central and very near to the Monastiraki area and the Acropolis, all within walking distance. We felt safe in this area in Athens although as other reviewers said it could be dodgy at night.

There is no lift at the hostel and you will have to carry your bag up the stairs to your room. Our room was on the third floor!

There is free internet access in the hostel.
