My and I stayed here for two nights after we flew in to Athens. Our first impression was that the women at the reception desk was no very friendly or helpful. She always seemed unhappy and arguing with staff in front of customers and always put off by our questions.

The room was average size, beds were small and hard and pillows were awful. The room was clean but carpet was very dirty and stained. Additionally it would of been helpful if water was provided in the room. We had to ask the front desk for one when we needed it.

Location was conveniently located in the Plaka district and a few minutes walk to Sygmata square and metro station and a 20min walk to the Acropolis and Monastiraki district.

Internet is not free and there is no free Wifi either. To get free wifi you must walk to Sygmata square.

The breakfast was good, specially the coffee and overall this was an affordable choice with excellent location if you don't mind a few unpleasant staff.

This hotel was reasonably priced for its location. We enjoyed staying in the family room which is two adjoining hotel rooms. Our room was on the top floor, which allowed us to use the baby monitor so we could go up on the rooftop terrace in the evenings to enjoy the fabulous view of the Acropolis. The front desk was always personable and helpful. The breakfast was yummy as well. The scraping of patio furniture on the terrace above echoed into our bedroom ceiling and was bit frustrating while trying to fall asleep, but we'd definitely stay there again in a heartbeat.

My husband and I stayed for 2 days on our way to the Greek Islands.

Check in was fine. We got to the room and noticed that the bathroom was very strange. There is a swinging glass door into the bathroom that does not lock (read not private or soundproof) and one of the walls of it is glass and only blurred in the center so you can basically see and hear everything the other person is doing in the bathroom. If they are on the bed you have zero privacy. They can see you. Lovely. The shower is a tiny little box and the drain did not drain properly and almost flooded in a few minutes so I had to turn the shower off, wait for it to drain and then turn it on again so I could finish washing my hair. Annoying!

They say they have internet, but you have to pay for this, it's not free. That was disappointing since it does not say it's pay internet on their website.

There is a "jacuzzi" on the roof that they advertise and we went up to check it out and found out it was uncovered and ICE cold. My husband asked at the front desk what was going on and the girl shrugged and said "yes I know"... In what world is a jetted jacuzzi on a windy roof supposed to be freezing? Do you want people to get hypothermia? Terrible. It had a great view of the Acropolis, but no one was up there and it's a shame it just gets wasted because it's so windy and chilly.

So we had no comfort here at all. Basic needs are being able to shower, have access to a bathroom and get a good nights sleep. This hotel failed at most. So needless to say we will not be recommending. I still cannot for the life of me figure out WHY they would bother to install see through glass doors and walls in a bathroom, what a waste of money and terrible design.

The only thing decent about this place is the location you can walk to Plaka but most things are closed in Athens on Saturday and Sunday so there is not much to do other than go to the Acropolis.

This hotel was in the perfect spot in Athens. Short walk up to Plaka for the shops and restaurants, 10 min walk to the Markets, and then 10 mins to Central athens with the major shops and also the Greek parliament.
The rooms were well airconditioned (thankgoodness!) and comfortable beds.
There is a cord available for internet in rooms.
The bathroom was nice, but there was mould in the shower.

Great breakfast, better than most other hotels. Staff always smiling and polite and willing to help.

This hotel was fantastic and really well placed. Can't beat it for value.

This hotel is a stone-through away from Plaka, the Akropolis, Sintagma square, etc. A 5-minute walk to the Metro: the elaborately decorated Sintagma square station that is directly connected to the airport. Most things inside are modern and clean. The only negative observation on cleanliness: carpet in our room was vacuumed regularly, but had dark spots, and therefore had "tired" look. In fact we would advise the owner to rip out the wall-to-wall carpet - the tile work in the rest of the room looked much better and was pleasant to touch on a hot summer evening...
Big plus for us - balcony: very clean, a rare treat in the heart of Athens. Every evening we had some light food and wine there. The breakfast room was simple and tastefully furnished with a small atrium providing plenty of natural light. Large selection of food: from traditional Greek to continental European to American...
The staff was very helpful. On our arrival day there was a misunderstanding about the room type that we booked, but it was quickly resolved. Everyone speaks good English. We witnessed how patiently a staff member was explaining an older tourist at breakfast how tzatziki kai meli is made...

We spent one night in Athens and stayed at Central.

The price and location really cannot be beat. It was perfect for what were were expecting; something not too fancy that was close to the sights and cheap (we were stopping in between the Islands and Turkey).

The bathroom was very clean, the carpet was a bit worn and stained and the room was pretty small. This hotel is perfect if you're looking to drop into Athens for a day or two but I don't know how anyone could stay here for more than 3 or 4 nights.

If you're looking for something short term, basic, in a great location and at a great price I'd highly reccommend Central

We stayed at this hotel based on TA recoms and can highly recommend it. We had a triple room which was very spacious although the third bed was a pull-out sofa bed and somewhat uncomfortable though we have slept on a lot worse. The main beds were very comfortable however. The room faced the internal service courtyard so no views but you could open the window which we liked rather than just air con and it was very quiet. The room was very clean and provided with all essentials. The ensuite opened off the entry hall so private. The bar fridge was very useful and despite an earlier TA post, we found it did stay on all day even with the room card removed. We did miss the lack of tea and coffee making facilities though. Reception staff were efficient but some personnel (male) lacked warmth and were rather intimidating.

The hotel is in an excellent location- just steps to the Plaka and an easy walk to all tourist spots. We caught the bus from the airport and easily found the hotel a short walk from Syntagma Square. Equally it was a short walk in the other direction to Monastiraki to catch the metro to Pireaus when we left by ferry. The hotel rooftop garden is a wonderful place to sit and watch the sunset with BYO drinks and nibblies and was never crowded. We bought take away noodles from the (highly recommended) noodle bar down the street one evening and had dinner there-who needs to pay expensive restaurant rates for a view of the Acropolis with dinner! There is also a jacuzi in summer which seemed popular. The included hotel breakfast buffet was good quality with a selectio of western and Med. foods. We had a very comfortable stay and would recommend to others. Would also recommend following TA Experts recoms for dining-we had some excellent meals. Nic's map is wonderful!
