3 things stand out for this hotel: It looks pretty new (probably just renovated or built) and clean + it has a great terrace bar for drinks overlooking the acropolis + fairly good location.
That probably sums up the overall experience i got from staying in this hotel. The lobby has a great waiting area which I think is heavily under-utilized because i suspect it is hidden at one corner of the hotel, but I found this place a great place to chill out with big couch and a huge TV showing BBC on my last day waiting for my transfer to airport.
The hotel is conveniently located in Plaka, which is a big tourist place and near syntagma square where the parliament is. I could get to all the places of attraction by walking and did not have to take any metro at all. It is along one narrow quiet street which again is away from the main flea market street and away from hustle and bustle which i liked. Area is also quite safe. Only thing i didnt like was that there are 2 restaurants just round the corner of the hotel and they tout tourist loudly for business. After the first day, we just avoided walking past that small street.
Service staff polite and helpful in providing directions.
Breakfast is served complementary but i think the hotel could do better with refilling of drinks. When I was there, all the juices and water cans were empty and no one filled it up for a good 30-45min! Is this trying to save water or what? Other that that, breakfast spread was ok, not too fantastic but can fill your stomach.
Rooms were small but clean, nice bathroom. I ordered for a queen size bed but they gave me 2 single beds combined as I could feel the divider in the middle when sleeping. Not good! Wi-fi was complimentary but quite weak in the rooms. Best place for wi-fi is at lobby or breakfast area.
Hotel has only one small lift that can only fit 2-3 persons...smallest hotel lift i ever seen in all my travels. I had to walk the stairs in some cases because sick of waiting for the next one.
Hotel has great terrace bar and offers a great night view of acropolis over a couple of drinks with friends or your partner.
There are around some great restaurants around the hotel like Mono.
All in all, comparing it to some other hotels which we walked past in athens (some not in great locations, some looked old etc), i think this hotel is one of the better ones around and value for money.
