We moved to this hotel from another hotel in the area. Before making the switch, we asked the hotel staff if they had availability. They said that they did, and that they'd give us a discount. We found out later that the discount price (100E) appeared to be the standard price for the room. It didn't include breakfast, but we saw in other reviews that the 100E price appeared to include breakfast. Either way, it didn't matter as we had to leave at 2:30AM for a flight.

They had nice free wireless internet and a computer to use. The rooftop deck was also nice wtih good Acropolis views. Our room was modern and attractive.

I would not recommend walking to this hotel from Athinias street; all the side roads between Athinias and the hotel are literally covered w/ graffiti, and almost all the stores appear to be permanently closed. I would recommend walking to the hotel from, I believe, Ermou street, you walk through the Psirri area and some nice restaurants.

The hotel got us a cab to the airport and was diligent about ensuring that we were up in time via a couple wake-up calls for our 2:30AM cab.

From looking at the website, it appears that breakfast is supposed to be included; I figure that it was a language issue that the hotel staff said that it wasn't included when we asked about it.

Arion hotel is at an excellent location but not in a very good neighborhood. The hotel as such was so so. I have stayed at better hotels in Europe. I'll give Arion a 2 out of 5 (5 being the best). I selected this hotel from the reviews at Trip Adviser but did not work out to my liking. Having said that, the view of Acropolis from our room and the hotel rooftop was A++++.

We were very impressed with the Arion. The room was ultramodern (very cool bathroom wall and lighting), clean, new and well-sized. Our room had a great view of the Acropolis that we weren't able to enjoy enough during our one-night stay. Breakfast was included, which made the price of 100e or so that we paid even better (still not cheap, but for Ahtens a reasonable price). Location was great, just a few minutes walk from Monastiraki station, placing it just a couple minutes walk from Plaka and then to the Acropolis. The nightlife near the hotel is very young, with early 20-somethings loading the sidewalks and drinking well into the night even on a Sunday night. The hotel is just past this, however, and there's no noise concern. Our morning walk back to Monastiraki revealed the dirtied remains of streets used for dining and drinking, and provided the dirtiest streets we saw in Athens, but I don't hold this against the hotel. Plaka and the area around the Art Gallery Hotel, where we had stayed a few nights prior, are kept much cleaner.

Great location for the price, interior somewhat sterile, but clean and modern, service polite. Good hotel if you're going to be spending most of your time sightseeing and want a clean place to sleep.

Took a gamble on this hotel based on the reviews and was very happy with the result. The Hotel is within a minute walk of lots of bars and restaurants and the metro is only 3 mins walk away. My room was on the 4th floor with a nice view of the Acropolis and was certainly quiet enough to sleep. The room also did look like they do in the pictures on this site which was good. The breakfast was the only slightly disappointing part of the trip - perfectly standard fare but just a bit boring and not the best quality of ingredients - eg hot food very poor but continental stuff was ok

This was a nice 3 star hotel very centrally located and reasonably priced. Sites were within easy walking distance. The area wasn't too dodgy (I was by myself for one day/night with no issues). Great bars and restaurants just down the road (1 minute walk).
The hotel was refurbished for the games in 2004 so things are still new. Decor is thankfully modern and pleasant to hang out in if you've done too much walking or want to escape the heat.
Bonus is the roof top terrace where you can sit and enjoy the fantastic view.
Downsides included a slightly leaky shower and if you get one of the rooms facing the Acropolis, then you get the morning church bells as an alarm.

First things first, the hotel was fantastic and I expected less for a 3 star hotel.
The hotel was recently refurbished, and clean; food hall was excellent for the buffet breakfast. The rooms were fantastic, really big comfortable beds, the shower was powerful and clean plus it had Air Conditioning.

We only stayed 3 nights, but we visited all the sites, and walked everywhere so the hotel itself is really central but and a big BUTT, the neighbouring suburb depending on which direction your coming from can be a little bit intimidating, but nothing to worry about as Athens is one of the safest city’s in the world, with police at every corner, or so it seemed like. However there is a problem with graffiti and stray dogs, every wall we passed was just full of graffiti even on the monuments and spoils the time being there.

I would not recommend this hotel if you don’t enjoy walking as some of the sites even though they weren’t very far, it took a few hills to climb before getting to them. Also Athens being a very hot city, with all the transportation, you can smell and feel the oil in the air.

We found that the drinks were really cheap there too as we were walking everywhere, we bought drinks from the street vendors and they were very reasonable, bottled mineral water was around 70cents and a bottle of pop running at 1 Euro (cheapest we found) and 1.20 the most.

Food was excellent, just a few blocks away there were just millions of restaurants (exaggeration) but there were a lot there, and some did try persuading us to dine there, however just tell them straight and they’ll leave you alone.

My partner and I both agreed that we enjoyed the time in Athens, are glad to have done the trip visited the amazing Acropolis but it wouldn’t merit a second trip.

We chose this hotel as it was the only one that could accommodate a group of 25 people on the date required. Rooms were refurbished, clean and quite roomy. The best aspect is the rooftop garden on Level 7 and the proximity to the Plaka. Our group met there each afternoon with drinks and nibbles and mixed with other hotel guests, many Australian, and watched the Acropolis light up each evening - what a sight. The staff were friendly, spoke excellent English and very helpful. They supplied a small bottle of wine from the bar at a very reasonable price (I had forgotten to buy some). Breakfast was good and when our booked Euroscape tour didn't arrive, they rang and did all the negotiating on our behalf. It is difficult to get to by coach - it stopped in the main street and we had to drag our bags about 3 blocks to the hotel as the coach could not fit down the street. We would have been better to get taxis rather than a coach transfer.
