Owner description: This hill is a favorite for weekending Athenians who come here to picnic and admire the breathaking views.

So much better than expected! Connected trails of a wilderness setting with ruins and views galore. Reminded me of Central Park in NYC because you go from downtown Athens to nice hiking trails in a matter of minutes. It didn't take long to go from one end to another, either. And even though you hike for an hour or two, you don't worry about ending up too far from your starting point (the hill is right downtown so you are always in the same general area). If I lived in Athens, I would go to Filopappos Hill regularly! It felt good to get away from the hustle and bustle and just relax, walk, and enjoy the views.

We enjoyed our walk on the Filopappos Hill. The views are good, there are some nice antiquities, and the area was green, peaceful, and clean.

Worth the climb to the top of the hill. Beside the good walk all over the way up, it is possible to see beautiful views of Athens and the Parthenon. It is free, no fee to access,

A hill adjacent to the Acropolis, nowhere near as crowded. There are several camps scattered around the park where homeless have set up, but the ones we stumbled across were clean, and the people friendly. One even had erected a flagpole with a Greek flag. Nice place for a quiet walk with good views.

This is a good climb, and so totally worth it for a 360 view of Athens. There is a marvelous statue at the top, but it is ALL about the view.
