“Dont get fooled by photos !”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

So me and my wife are currently staying at the Eridanus best rooms but unfortunately i must confess - please dont get fooled by the photos . The hotel is surely not a 4 star - maybe a 3 star but surely on the border . Warm people at the reception - except 1 by the name of Constantino . I have seen lazy people but he beats all by a huge leap . He was almost behaving racist - me and my wife felt . We have never seen a person on front desk or in hospitality sector - so callous , careless and carefree . I think the only reason why this hotel is getting bad reviews of sevice is only because of this fat lazy bum . Rest the location is a little dingy - not really holiday or honeymoon material , the hotel has almost negligent facilities , romm service menu has bare minimum dishes , extra towels are questioned even if you have gotten wet in terrible rains , staff really doesnt take onus in actually helping guests visit athens city better . Every hotel has a acropolis view - u will realise this when you come here , so dont get all carried away . I realised how staff and services of a hotel can really make you stay either 5 star memorable or a 2 star waste of time . So , small rooms with a little balcony - budget hotel kinda accomodation is your idea - this is the place . But stillll ignore Mr Constantino .

Room Tip: Acropolis executive room only - there are only 2 in the hotel anyways . Traffic noise is unavoidable...

Im currently in this hotel, I normally stay at the Hilton in Athens when I visit. Heard good comments on this hotel thru a friend and decided to give it a try and it was a mistake! Well the prices are reasonable but the quality is really low ! first the air-condition is not performing well, when i complained they told me in winter its only heater !! but the weather was 21 and windy !! windows can't be opened bcoz of the wind, so the room was real warm ! Also the hotel is right on the main road and the noise of the cars is real high !

The water pressure at the shower is really weak !! the lighting in room is really bad. I've been to similar boutique hotel world wide and by far this is the least in quality.

I've always been very selective when it comes to hotel, but this hotel is a 3 star hotel and the management need to look at the quality seriously!

Room Tip: If quality is not an issue then go for this hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at Eridanus Hotel, from the check-in to check-out.

We were warmly welcomed by the reception at our arrival, we received specious first floor rooms with separate bath tub and shower. The mini bar was really good equipped and with reasonable prices. My only reservations were the noise from the street when we wanted to open the window, combination of separate mattresses to have large bad for 2 people and cleanliness of the bed cover, which was immediately fixed after my complain.

The breakfast had a nice choice of food, evening room service food was also tasteful.

The hotel has great location, it's just 5 minutes walk to reach bars, clubs, restaurants and tube station.

Definitely good choice for your stay in Athens, I won't hesitate to book Eridanus Hotel next time.

The neighborhood is a bit rough, but do not let that scare you off. Traffic outside is loud but the rooms are quiet and well sound-proofed. This location makes an easy walk to the Plaka and the Acropolis. The staff is very helpful and the hotel itself is incredibly lovely. Excellent firm king size bed, excellent view from the Acropolis View Rooms. Perhaps the most fun hotel bathroom I've ever experienced. Full breakfast includes eggs, bacon, sausage, cold cuts, cheeses, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, yogurt, breads, fresh pressed juice (exceptional produce quality). Dinner on the roof is both delicious and gorgeous. This hotel has amazing artistic details; explore it well and look around every corner. For once, the pictures on the official website for this hotel are not an exaggeration; it really is that gorgeous.

Room Tip: The views are terrible if you don't request an acropolis view room, be sure to do that.

Arrived in the dark; our (own) car was driven precariously from the hotel to the carpark by the valet. Incredible view of the Acropolis from the room. Interesting bathroom and good breakfast. It is not difficult to visit all the major sights walking from the hotel. Highly recommended, despite its bad area, as previously commented on and the high risk parking ie on our second morning we found the car park space rather than in the garage. Road noise is very high.

Room Tip: If you choose a room with Acropolis view which is superb you are on the street side and you will suf...

We dealt with the Hotel directly and obtained a very good quote for the 3 nights at the hotel. This is a five star hotel. We were upgraded to a room which has a balcony with fantastic views of the Acropolis. We were pleased with the breakfast included in the price.It. Is, however, not a five star hotel breakfast although my wife and I do not believe in excess and wastage. The location is what one would not desire but that has nothing to do with the quality of this excellent hotel. It must be mentioned that as seasoned travellers, we took precautions dictated by common sense and as a consequence never felt threatened at any time. The presence of Police inthe area was reassuring.
We congratulate the all knowing, very agreeable and knowledgeable Yannis who works at the hotel. He is a delight to meet.
We travelled to Delphi which is a three hour journey, by public transport and thereby saved ourselves one hundred Euros. The entrace to the historic site is 18 Euros pp and it includes entry to the museum. Take a taxi from the hotel and make sure that the driver knows where the bus station to Delphi is because we were taken to the wrong bus station and almost missed the 7.30 am bus which we recommend to those wishing to visit Delphi. One needs about four to five hours to visit and appreciate the beauty and wonder of this historic site.Visit the Stadium above the temple of Apollo. Nero convoked the Olympic Games in the year 68 AD although it was not the time for such a convocation. The Roman historian Suetonius says that Nero also took part in a chariot race, fell off the chariot but was still awarded the luaurel of a victor!!
We recommend a walk to the Acropolis from the hotel . It costs 18 Euros to enter the site and do climb the Arpeogos hill nearby. The Ackropolis opens at 8.00 am and shuts, from what we can remember, at 3.00 p.m. Check the times of opening and closure on the internet.

We stayed here overnight prior to taking the ferry to Mykonos and also one night on the way back from Santorini. It is just lovely. Yes, the hotel area does look a bit dodgy, but once you exit the hotel and go right for about 10mins (walking) it brings you to a wonderful area with many restaurants and bars. It was a great surprise and the food is just wonderful. Check-in was a breeze and our room was just lovely. Very clean, with a small balcony facing the garden/courtyard. Washroom was just lovely and the bed was really comfortable. Hermes toiletries are a bonus. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would I stay here again??? I would definitely stay here again :))
