“Best value for money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2010

my sister and i spent 4 nights at Fresh october 2010.Its a great little boutique hotel smack in the middle of everything within walking distance to all the main attractions and shopping areas. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, given great advice where to eat, shop etc.The breakfast was the best we had on our 10day trip to Greece with fresh orange juice, fresh breads and a wonderful selection of cereals, eggs etc,the best coffee i have had in greece too.The rooms were spotlessly clean and fresh ,it has a lovely roof top area where you can relax and enjoy the view of the acropolis. We were warned many times about the area Fresh is located in and in our opinion its nonsense ,we walked everywhere, even in the so called bad areas. Its no different from any other big cities,we didnt see anybody hanging around the streets but there again we didnt arrive back at the hotel in the early morning hours. It was really quiet and we had no problems with noise.I would highly recommend this hotel, great value for money and a gem in the middle of a very busy city.

The hotel is great - clean and tidy and helpful friendly staff. Rooms a bit small, but fine.
Rooftop bar has views and small pool.
As for the area, it's not the best, but it's not that bad. We wandered around morning noon and night, as the "dodgy" area was a short cut to the touristy part of town. Sure we were the only tourists, but never felt thretened once, it's full of wholesale import/exporters - you can get your tourist tat for 1/10 the price in the high street! and they are happy to sell in bulk or 1 at a time....
Noisy? Nope - we had inside rooms - inner court yard view, but not a squeek of noise.
XXX dvd? you have to look very hard to find them.
Prostitutes? a few knocking about, but no worse than anywhere else in town.
wifi worked, pretty quick as well.
Psyrri area best for food - full of locals - cheaper than Plaka - better food as well.

We booked the Fresh Hotel through Mr & Mrs Smith and initially were surprised at its general shabbiness. It was probably the height of trendiness when first built but looks dated now. Check in service was okay however it all went downhill from there.

We went upstairs to the pool and bar for something to eat and drink in the sunshine. The seating in the pool area was covered up because it had rained several hours previously and the staff were too lazy to put them back out in case it rained again anytime over the next few days!

The icing on the cake though was the noise all night long. Living in central London, we are not sensitive to noise however the noise coming from the openair clubbing that was taking place less than a block away was like it was happening in the room! The night manager landed himself in it by saying this happened every Saturday, the duty manager the next day was a little cleverer and said that it happened on different nights during the summer. The noise was unbelievable and we would not recommend that you go anywhere near this hotel.

Chose this hotel based on TA reviews and photos and were not disappointed. The hotel is well placed (short walk to many sites) and well maintained both inside and out. Common areas and rooms are clean, attractive and comfortable with modern styling. The staff has been very accommodating and friendly. Our stay included breakfast, which was also very good and included a broad range of items. The hotel has on-site parking, in a basement garage with controlled access, also a plus since we had a rental car. The rooftop "Air Bar" is very nice and affords fantastic views of the city but I was disappointed at it's expense (nearly 10 Euro for a drink, though well poured).
In short, I would not only stay here again, but recommend to others. Fantastic hotel.

Fabulous hotel well located for walking around the main sights in Athens. It's on the edge of a less salubrious area - follow the consierge's directions and you'll have no trouble. The views from the rooftop bar are amazing - great place to watch the sunset. The hotel restaurant serves delightful food - be sure to ask the staff for food and wine recommendations. I'll definitely stay here again if I return to Athens!

Beautifully designed hotel, centrally located ( the area is not at all bad as some say) with the sexiest roof top pool in Athens with stunning views of the Acropolis. Great bar and the best breakfast in town. 10 out of 10.

This is real Athens: the bustling food markets, the shops selling, string or pigeons or tin jugs, the tiny incense and icon-filled Byzantine churches between office buildings, the beautiful, crumbling neo-classical houses. The warmth and the chaos. Yes it's not sanitised and tidied up for tourists, yes, there are new immigrants, and at night you'd be careful-as in any capital city- but the hotel is a gem: quiet, immaculate, airy and stylish. Friendly, efficient staff- marvellous roof bar, swimming pool and loungers. Breakfasts big enough to last until evening. Plenty of plugs, comfy pillows, heavenly Korres bath products proper working desk.
