We did a private food walking tour with a couple of personalized add ons all organized by Tina.

We have done a lot of private tours and hers is up there with the best! Right from the booking process it was clear that Tina is extremely competent, thoughtful and has flawless English (she studied in the UK). Before we arrived she asked us about ourselves to help her plan a customized tour instead of just offering a private version of her group tours. She clearly put a lot of time and consideration into the planning of our day with some aspects right out of the food walking tour which we asked for, and then other parts customized based on the info we gave her about ourselves. I am very thankful that she took the time to plan the day out before meeting up with us as most guides either have you do a tour that is pre set and inflexible that they do day in and day out so it is not customized to your interests at all or they come with no plan asking you what you want to do (assuming you have researched the city enough to know where to go).

She was very personable as well as knowledgeable making the day lots of fun!

Our tour:
We did the food tour from her website - she gave a us a map with the stops with names and the food listed on it for future reference and as a keep sake which I thought was a nice touch- the stops were all off the beaten track, unique, and involved facts and foods that we would not have discovered on our own (or may have tried elsewhere and not enjoyed or not known how to eat to its full potential).

The pace was nice and her information was both historic and current - sometimes about the food, other times about the neighborhoods, monuments and people we passed along the way.

After the walking food tour she took us around the Plaka area with some leisurely wandering through local streets where we parted. Then we had a couple hours of free time (our choice - you don't need to do this) to rest up back at the hotel before doing the 2nd half of our day.

The second half of the the we met up with Stella, a licensed guide the company organized for us (Tina emailed a picture of her with very clear meeting place notes to ensure we met up with her with ease). We walked with her to see the Parliament building, walked through Amelia Park to Hadrian's Arch and then up to the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum - we did this in the evening to avoid crowds and the heat on Tina's brilliant suggestion.

Tina is one of the most competent guides we have ever had- she obviously cares about what she does and make sure you are happy at all times! She is flexible, knowledgeable, and knows how to run a business! She even emailed me a couple days after the tour to make sure Greece was treating us well and to see if we had any questions about other parts of our trip.

We went on Tina's Athens food tour. It was wonderful. She took us to places we would not have know about. We got to taste some things and learn about the Greek culture. Tina is very personable and fun to talk to, she shared with us and us with her. I would definitely recommend to anyone going to Athens.

Tina’s “Alternative Athens” tour was our final excursion after almost a week in Athens—and I’d honestly have to say her fun & informative tour was tied with an afternoon in the port & fortress city of Nafplion as our favorite part of the trip.

Tina is a joyful, intelligent and interesting student of culture, history, and her city--and her well-organized, professionally-paced tour reflects that. We literally didn’t want our morning with her to end, but since we had to catch a flight to Rome after lunch, it had to! With Tina we discovered the Athens we’d overlooked for a solid week, and the stories and people behind them: the back streets and bustling markets, interesting neighborhoods and graffiti artists, hidden grottoes, and—because we asked— an inexpensive boutique herb- and soap-shop for gifts to give to friends as we schlepped through the rest of Europe.

My wife and I not only loved Tina’s cute & central B&B—but also her hip & off-the-beaten-path tour through this ancient and ageless city. We'd recommend it highly! - D&L McKnight

I found this food tour on trip advisor.com and with such good ratings and I had to try and it was so worth it. Tina is a marvelous guide . You may think you know Greek food but believe me his not all about feta and yogurt . We tasted our way around the city and never getting too stuffed to not try the next tasting. She answered our questions before we made them. Not too much walking either.

Tina is a wonderfull hostess, from the moment we contacted her she was of great help, specially planning to go to the Athens Festival, she informed us as soon as the programme was available, We stayed a few days in Athens and one of our highlights was THE FOOD TOUR with Tina which is a nice way of spending a morning in Athens, walking on the old neighbourhood and getting a not so touristic feel about the city and discover many old an beautuful food stores and tasting bits of its delicious food. We highly recommend it.
