Owner description: A delightful hands-on cooking lesson and dinner; be initiated by the Chef into Greek cooking secrets with easy instructions and plenty of “hands on” preparation and cooking. But the best of all is the sumptuous dinner that you will have with the rest of your “classmates” at the end of the lesson.

“Great experience”
Reviewed November 17, 2013

We've been at Maria’s cooking class in late October 2013. It was perfect and we will surely make sure to recommend it to all our friends. Recipes were quite simple, so almost everybody can repeat them at home.

“A MUST-DO!”
Reviewed November 13, 2013

Signed up for this on the very day of the class after much deliberation as time in Athens was very limited and it was the right decision!! Had such an enjoyable time with such a lovely host! The cooking class was small, intimate and fun. Maria was a great teacher and so very open in sharing her cooking tips and skills. There was no actual over the stove cooking but the entire class was roped in to help during the food preparation. Enjoyed the conversations and learning the Greek culture over food. Oh and there's lots of food!! I suggest skipping lunch! =)

“Our trip highlight!”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

This is WONDERFUL. If you enjoy food and cooking, you must go. Maria is warm and friendly. I learned so much, and not just to follow recipes. We learned basic concepts we can adapt in different ways. I can't wait to go home and put my own twist on the recipes. Plan on this lasting five or six hours!

“Great foodie experience”
Reviewed October 23, 2013 via mobile

An absolute highlight of my recent stay in Athens was my cooking class with the beautiful Maria booked through Athens Walking Tours. We spent an enjoyable time making a range of Greek dishes from dolmades to delicious lamb. The class is held in the family taverna in the heart of Athens and was a really enjoyable evening. If you want a truly authentic Athens experience, this is it.

“Wonderful addition to time in Athens!”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

My husband and I didn't know what to expect, meeting our guide in Monastiraki square, but it all went off without a hitch and we soon found ourselves in one of the oldest Taverns in Athens with a warm welcome from Maria, who was incredibly prepared. She offered us a drink and some Greek samplers before we all began our lesson. Maria is knowledgable, professional and passionate about cooking, hospitality and making everyone feel part of the group. We started on time, and we were all hands on making dough, rolling up our vine leaves. We made 6 starters, one main course and ate way too much! The wine was poured freely, we had so many laughs, it was as though we were all one extended Greek family. Maria was cautious about being 'food safe', everything was spotlessly clean, her timing and organizational skills are to be commended. She spent extra time with us, sharing extras as we encouraged her on. A wonderful way to spend an authentic night in Athens, highly recommended!
