“not as great as I imagined.”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

Very clean & friendly hotel with good service; but really for the size of the room & the price it is very very overpriced .The location is probably what we paid for it as its very central for shopping, plaka & all the sights; At that price I would definitely choose a different hotel.

Dear Guest,

First of all I would like to thank you for your time, writing a review for our home!
I would like also to mention here, that our hotel was totally renovated in October 2012 and it is one of several maintained old buildings in Plaka. Even though we changed everything, unfortunately, we couldn't do anything about the size of some rooms and that's why these rooms are mentioned as economy double rooms and the size of the room is mentioned as well.
Our services though and our facilities, as you have mentioned, are always the same in any type of room you choose! Our quality of the facilities, our services and also our rates is what our guests appreciate the most and we thank them for this.
I really hope to see you again in our home next time that you visit Athens!

Kind regards,

Afroditi Armata

Sweet Home Hotel in Athens is absolutely wonderful! If you are looking for a centrally located immaculately clean, modern, boutique hotel with every modern convenience and a helpful attentive staff, then this is the place for you. It is on a very small side street, in between Syntagma Square and Monastriaki Square; therefore, you are close to everything but away from the noise of late eaters and even later party'ers who fill the downtown streets whenever the weather is good; ie; most of the time. The Internet connections were free and strong; the bathroom and shower were modern and clean. Although there are steps to get up to the reception area, where there is an elevator, as soon as you arrive, one of the staff comes down to assist you with your luggage. Aphrodite and her staff were eager to help with directions and tourist info. The breakfast area is bright and very well equipped. There is a kettle with tea in each room. A very good hotel at a very reasonable cost.

For central Athens this hotel is very quiet, cozy well renovated very clean; beddings are of high quality; only the room is not huge but still comfortable; staff very helpful and friendly; value for money is ok but altogether not that cheap (140€) for a double with view. All in all I would recommend the place; I have seen so many horrors in the past in Athens, Sweet Home is definitely NOT one!

When in Athens and looking for a quality hotel at a great price, look no further than Sweet Home Hotel in Athens.

Located on a side street off of Metropolitan in the Plaka District of Athens, Sweet Home provides every desired comfort at an incredible price. We paid 70 Euro for a mid-week visit in early May 2013.

Recently upgraded, Sweet Home has a friendly and welcoming staff (all speak English). Rooms are clean and comfortable and have spacious bathrooms. A full traditional breakfast is included with your rate and located in a bright and open top-floor setting.

Sweet Home provides easy access to all of the major attractions and is easily reached from the airport (35 Euro taxi) in 40 minutes.

Two restaurants are in close proximity if you are so inclined. If are from the NYC area, make sure to stop next door and ask for Gus, a Greek native who resides in Poughkeepsie. It is worth a break from sightseeing for a beer or two for some lively stories.

If we should return to Athens, Sweet Home will definitely be our place of temporary residence.

Lovely hotel in a great location, aphrodite very helpful but other staff not so much. Good breakfast but only had one as we had an early start the next day, Aphrodite offered quick bite but not delivered by her staff.

Great hotel and best staff

We stayed for 7 nights at the hotel a couple of weeks ago. First of all, the hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

The hotel's owner, Aphrodite helped his colleagues when we booked the ferry tickets to the island of Aegina (we recommend the day trip there). The hotel room we got a schedule of ships and prices, friendly staff and also played in the shipping company. Every day, was asked at the front desk help is needed, or other advice. The hotel service was more personal than many five-star hotel.

The hotel is located within walking distance of many tourist attractions edge (Acropolis, Monistiraki, Plaka, Syntagma Square, Benaki Museum, the Acropolis museum, etc.)

Hotel Review:

The hotel is very clean (thanks to the friendly cleaning woman!), The beds are good, high-quality linens, flat screen TVs, high-quality towels are thick and comfortable, high-quality bathroom accessories). Cleanliness level was 10.

The Breakfast was great. Lady's smile and friendly service was commendable. Her baking, hot feta pies, chocolate cakes, olive breads, sweets and cakes were perfect. The range was changed appropriately during the week. And leaving always had a good feeling for breakfast. Thank you for your warm service.

The hotel is safe, there is also a new elevator, and, above all, the hotel is brilliant.

Thank you, Aphrodite & the entire staff for everything! This hotel is more than can be recommended.

sl. I also recommend a day trip from Athens to Delphi oracle. He probably would also give the answer if you would ask: What is the best hotel in Athens? Sweet Home Athens :)

Room Tip: Our room was on 3rd floor, basic room- perfect.

The hotel doesn't look like much from the street, but the antique knick-knacks in the reception area served as a declaration that this hotel was extraordinary. Our room was well made and well decorated. The staff was attentive and helpful.

But the nicest surprise was the breakfast. The cheese pie and three of the cakes were homemade and delicious.

Finally, location was perfect -- within walking distance to the Parthenon as well as the Plakas shopping district and its many restaurants.
