“Wow, if you stumble across it, sit and enjoy it!”
Reviewed May 31, 2013

It's location is on some stairs somewhere above temple of the winds on hadrians library, on your way up to the acropolis. It had some tables located on the stairs, as well as some u der cover, on a verandah. Great ambience for lunch, worth it! Good food, tranquil, very Greek feel. If you find it, stop sit and enjoy, mits worth it, even for just a cold drink.

“Happy to have stumbled on this little cafe for lunch”
Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

A perfect place for a light lunch just a few minutes walk from the acropolis if you exit to the right in the direction of the ancient agora, not to the left toward the museum.

They had salads, Greek pies, very good moussaka as well as some pasta basics. Good prices and nice outdoor seating on a quiet corner.

“Authentic Greek Food”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

We happened upon this small restaurant while wondering away from the crowds around the Acropolis. Here we had one of our best meals. It iis on a little street with light foot traffic. They have croched doilies on the tables and great views of Greek houses. We ordered their special salad, spinach pie and onion pie. The onion was our favorite. The spinach was also delicious. We didn't have room for the dessert. They looked scrumptious.

“Great pie!”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

We stumbled onto this beautiful cafe upon our descent from themAcropolis. The service was speedy, the fresh, homemade meal pies were exquisite. My companion chose a spinach pie and I chose the onion pie. Both were light and fluffy. The onion pie was delicious with bacon and cheese in just the right amounts. The spinach pie was quite good, as well. The salad was the best we found in this country, yet. With plenty of dressing and some raisins for good, chewy flavor.

“Great food, great location”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

We came down a small path leading from the Acropolis to the Plaka and found the Kelpsidra Cafe nestled into the corner of a lovely, small square. I love Greek food and the Moussaka I had there was the best ever - the custard silky, the eggplant and potatoes perfectly cooked and not overwhelmed by the lamb. My companions were equally impressed by the taramasalata, the tsadiki, the spinach pie and the salads. AND the homemade apple 'pie' desert was amazing - poached apples drizzled in honey on a light open crust. I'm a food adventurer who likes to try new things and we were only in Athens for only 2 days - but we went there twice.
