If you have read any reviews of the Omonia neighborhood, believe them. It is not the safest of places, as anyone in the area, including the taxi drivers will tell you, so if you are by yourself or just a couple, I highly recommend staying in another part of town closer to the Acropoli area. We had a group of 8 and it was fine.

This hotel seemed better than reviews upon first inspection. New furniture in the rooms and decent size rooms made us happily surprised. However, when it came time to using the room, it was disappointing to say the least. Our biggest problem was the noise. The hotel is on a busy busy road and the noise does not stop at all. We literally did not sleep all night because of how loud it was. Trucks and motorcycles going all night. The next problem was the fact that I found a dirty rag in my pillowcase. The sheets seemed ok but that turned me off a bit and the bedspread was a bit nasty. Next, the shower was super tiny! I understand small showers in Europe are the norm but this shower was not even a square- it cut off the corner so you constantly hit your back on the shower handles by turning, and I am by no means a big person. The last problem was the hookers using the corner outside as a base. We might not have noticed them but we were enjoying the bar which was outside on the sidewalk with plants partially blocking the view of the street and they were everywhere trying to get some clients. So a bit awkward if you aren't used to seeing that.

On the bright side of this place, it had friendly people working there. No complaints on that side. They offered breakfast which was ok, nothing special but they had it which was nice. They also had a nice bar outside with cheap Greek beers which was a nice way to end the night and like I mentioned before, they had plants blocking the street so it was a little more covered than just sitting on the street. And even though the neighborhood is a bad one, it is just a 20 minute walk to the plaka and Acropolis and less than 5 minutes to the Omonia metro station.

Room Tip: If there is any possibility of getting a room off the streets I would ask for that. It is loud off the main street.

This small hotel is situated around a few hundred yards from the Metro Station in Omonia Square and is therefore ideally situated for getting around by Metro. The tranfer from the airport by Metro was simple and saved heavy cost by not using a taxi! If you are here for sightseeing, once again the metro is convenient for this hotel and cheap. The open top sightseeing busses operate from Omonia Square which is just walking distance away, so what more could you wish for! The hotel is small but has everything you could wish for if you are looking for convenience, reasonable price and clean. The bar on the street level is a nice place to have a beer or a coffee or just relax with a book. The small restaurant offered a very acceptable continental style breakfast and the pastries were first class-my only complaint is the lack of hot water at breakfast for tea and coffee -I had to chase the girl twice and there is no excuse for this! Regarding the no s positive side of the location as mentioned in other reviews-dont let this put you off! There are some street ladies and an occasional drug user hanging around (common in many cities these days) nearby day and night but dont give them eye contact and they will leave you alone! There are cafes neabry and shops selling anything tourist want. There is a very classy coffee shop at the top of the street near the metro and there is also a Macdonalds and plenty of tobacco/sweet cabins. All in all, excellent value for money, friendly staff and clean.I will return if I ever stay in Athens again.

This hotel was OK. The worst part of the hotel is definitely the neighborhood; which is fine during the day but not really recommended at night, especially if walking around alone. Many prostitutes frequented near the hotel and overall the people around the neighborhood at night seemed sketchy.

On the plus side, the staff was nice, breakfest was good and included with price, and had no problems with showers or bed. They also had a computer in the lobby which was convienent and free to use. Only a few blocks away from the metro also. Maybe 1/2 hour walk to the base of the acropolis area.

If you want to have a decent stay in Athens, don't stay here. Although it is very centrally located, we found out that it is a couple hotel. The staff is very rude and if you don't have to be in the main square, don't stay here.
