Wanted cheap accommodation for two nights in Athens on route to another destination - €30 double and very clean.
Not in a very nice area, lots of police and undesirables! Hotel advertised that they had a restaurant but they didn't and we weren't happy about wandering around at night looking for one.
Breakfast was included in the price but very average food.
Staff were very friendly and hotel very clean.
Close to Metro to get to and from Airport and all tourist attractions.
Wi-fi excellent but TV reception was terrible.

Stayed July 2012. This is a great little hotel but it is situated in the bronx. Seriously, not for the faint hearted. We are experienced travellers and both come from big cities, but this area is a little seedy. Not recommended for families or naive travellers. We were offered drugs near to the hotel within first hour of arriving. We have stayed in Athens previously and this was a very different experience.

Pros
Good clean hotel
Good sized rooms
Good beds
Free Wifi
Helpful staff
Near to metro (300m)

Cons
Dodgy, rough area with armed police everywhere and lots of alcoholics and drug addicts in the vicinity

If it's for a short stay and you don't wish to explore the immediate area, this hotel is fine and good value for money.

A good hotel in the center of Athens , close to the subway, just a street down, coming with a taxi through the bus station is costing about 7 euros , or if you arrive with the subway/train is 5 minutes walk down the street , place is nice location is nice but after sun goes down all the center suffers , advisable the arrival in the evenings to be done with a cab instead walking as the place is rough, the plus are location close to the archaeological sites, nice rooms, nice breakfast, wifi internet or cable , and in and the center of Athens and the minus , the location is rough at night.!!! recommended for city escape and shopping and sits visiting !

We stayed here in June 2012 for 2 nights. Booked it as a special secret hotel from Hotwire at £21.00 per night, and only found out once the booking was paid for.

Was a bit worried once I seen where we were staying in the Email as I checked out the reviews once I got confirmation. But overall the hotel and the area is fine.

Clean, English speaking staff, are all good. The Area is fine, Yes if you look out your window walk onto the balcony you will see some dodgy charactors around in the daytime hours. But at night me and my partner come back at least at 1 or 2 am each day and never had a problem. Even when we got to taxi to the wrong street and had to walk around lost. I never felt worried at all.

The only gripe I have are the beds, they are bad, hard and you can fell the springs. And the pillows are no better. I had to ask to change the first one as it was so old, all the foam on the inside had gone into balls (from the sweat). I could not sleep on it. The replacement was not much better but it done the job. If the spend some money on putting new beds in and pillows I would be one of the deals of the century.

Aircon worked perfectly and kept the room nice and cool in the summer heat. There's a fridge in the room, and super cheap drinks in the reception ( 1 euro for a beer!) to stock your fridge for pre going out drinks.

Shower/toilet was small but served the purpose. Shower curtain was too short and bathroom got wet but drained away fine.
Bathroom has a hair dryer also, but the according to my other half, she said it's not the best. BUT better than lugging one around in your luggage.

Over all reccomended, if your on a buget it is clean, safe and close to everything you need in athens.

Relatively good location - walking distance to the Metro Station and the museum, and even Monastiraki, Plaka and Acropolis (the last two could be quite a bit of a walk).
The people at the reception are very helpful face to face, but you need to go down to talk to them (difficult over the phone).
Ref in the rooms need upgrading (not very cold).
Bathrooms a bit on the small side.

Room Tip: Specify a relatively larger bathrooms since the bathroom in some of the rooms could be very small.

I recently came back and I was a bit scared after reading some reviews. Luckily it wasn't as bad as some reviewers made it seem like. I must say that the area itself is definitely not in the best conditions but the hotel was very clean, nice staff, and very helpful. There is no safe in the room and the shower was extremely small. If your on a budget and not so picky then this is a decent hotel. The big bottle of water was only 1€ and the cans if beer only 1€ as well, so can't complain there lol.. this location is very close to the acropolis and easy to get to the major attractions within walking distance, that is if you don't mind walking a bit. However there is 2 metro locations nearby if you decide you don't want to walk.
This is my opinion regarding omonoia metro station it is very crowded during the day and there's many things going on there but nothing to worry about. There's lots of shops, food and mix crowds. I did see a few homeless, drunk men walking around but that was throughout the day and everyone just ignores them and keep it moving. At night it was more quiet and definitely some weird people walking around but there was always plenty of cops therefore I didn't feel unsafe. I'm from NYC and little things like that don't phase me. I'm sorry but some people exaggerated about omonoia metro station besides your only there to sightsee during daytime not night time.. just saying. Anyways once I was done visiting all the major attractions me and my friends decided to take the tram which only costs 1.60€ to Glafyda, we wanted to see something different and go to The beach, it took us about an 1hr but it was worth the trip. We got to see a nice beach and finally I felt like I was in the city. Everything and everyone was totally the opposite from Athens. Much more cleaner and lots of shops, cafe, lounges, restaurants, I mean they had everything.. I'm sure eventually you will want to leave Athens, well don't be afraid and take the tram, they have plenty of beaches and is not so hard to get there. Good luck on your travels

The location was a bit scary especially at night, however the place was very clean and well kept. the housekeepers are non-stop cleaning the place. the breakfast buffet was good for only 5 euro! i enjoyed the breakfast!!!! its about few stops in the metro to go to the acropolis and other attractions. good price, i paid about $138 plus for 2 nights with four single beds. anyway, we only stayed there to sleep, we were out all day!!!!!
