“You're going for the view, and for that it's worth it.”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

You're going to this restaurant for the view, nothing else. And it's worth it. It's absolutely spectacular, and you will not be disappointed. The hotel pool is luckily closed for dinner, meaning the ambiance is subdued and elegant. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive. The food leaves much to be desired however. Our lamb arrived cold, and was generally unimpressive. The lobster dish was average, and the shrimp appetizer was nothing special at all. Plating and presentation is quite good, save for the rucola salad, which was a small handful of salad surrounded by cheese on a much larger plate. It's definitely a higher-end restaurant experience, but you won't by any means be wowed by the food if you're one to frequent such places.

“Awesome view.....everything else was just OK”
Reviewed June 20, 2013 via mobile

The view is spectacular. There is no doubt about it. The service was sub standard for this type of restaurant. The waiter was abrupt and almost condescending. For example, when we asked if a particular wine was good, his snarky reply was "all our wines are good or it would not be on the menu". He "warmed up" somewhat throughout the rest of the evening but first impression left a bad taste.

Bread, greek salad, prawns and turkey meatballs were all very good. The mushroom risotto was terrible. Essentially bland and runny. First time I have ever had to ask for salt at a restaurant.

Dessert was excellent (chocolate fondant)

I'd go back and recommemd it to others only with the hope that the other wait staff are better. Oh and don't order the risotto .

“Pricey but worth it for a special dinner”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

My Husband and I were watching our wallets for the trip. We don't eat huge portions so we always share our meals. Our 2 1/2 year old daughter was with us so we usually would get 2 dishes to share with the 3 of us wherever we went.

We were recommended this place for the view. We attempted to dine here our second night in Athens but were told without a reservation they were booked. So we reserved for the next day. We came at 7:30 when they open and were given front row view to the Acropolis. Amazing view. We ordered the breads, an appetizer of prawns, and a main dish of lamb to share for the 3 of us. I got a glass of wine, and then we ordered a fruit plate and cheesecake for dessert. This was enough food for the 3 of us, but again we are not huge eaters. I think it ended up being close to 70 Euros for this. So just be prepared, if you are one to eat an appetizer, main dish and dessert with a glass of wine you will be paying this per person. However this was our last meal in Greece and it was a special way to end our trip.

The food itself was delicious but I wouldn't say it was any better then the restaurants in Plaka or Manastraki. You are paying for the view as well as the quality of the servers who were very attentive.

We would definitely return to this restaurant for a special meal.

“Spectacular view! And best Moussaka!”
Reviewed June 17, 2013 via mobile

We arrived before sunset and enjoyed a leisurely meal as it grew dark, drinking in a panoramic view of Athens and the Acropolis in a romantic setting. The Moussaka-baked-in-a-clay-pot arrived still bubbling and was the best I've had in many attempts. Service was prompt and gracious, though prone to hover a tad too close for my taste. Overall, this view, or a comparable one, is a "must experience" when visiting Athens.

“A Fine Dinner at Electra Roof Garden Restaurant”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

After a long flight from JFK and a short check-in at the Electra Palace Hotel we tried the roof garden restaurant for our first dinner in Athens.

The restaurant is located on the fifth floor facing the Acropolis and furnished with white tables, spaced apart, thus allowing diners the privacy for a leisurely meal. Service was attentive and polite, but dishes were priced high.

We had the Greek Salad, roasted Salmon with steamed vegetables, accompanied by Electra’s white wine and sparkling water. The salads and the main dishes were fine but the wine was unremarkable. For desert we had an interesting version of vanilla ice cream. This was a fine dinner, yet at 70EUR for two we decided to venture out to other restaurants for our future dinners.
