“Perfect location”

We chose this hotel based on its location and we were not disappointed. The hotel is just a block away from all the wonderful shops in the Plaka area and a very short walk to the new Acropolis Museum. We stayed for two weeks and walked everywhere. Also, turning left out of the hotel the sidewalk leads directly into a taverna where we usually stopped for a coffee or a glass of wine and appetizers--Thomas was our server extrodinaire.

The hotel room had a balcony which was great. The room decor itself is quite tired, but the room was clean. We knew the bed had two single beds put together, but we would have much preferred a double bed. The breakfast buffet was quite good and much better than some places we have been. Internet service in the room was quite good. Over the two-week period we had a problem only once.

The hotel staff were wonderful. The provided us with great recommendations and reservations for restaurants and even helped us with some other local phone calls we had to make.

A great location in the Plaka district, literally 10 mins walk to the new museum, the Acropolis, Hadrian's Arch & the Temple of Zeus, great restaurants nearby & shopping. The hotel was clean & staff very helpful. Free internet for guests available on a computer located in the lobby. Would stay here again.

Our bedroom and bathroom were decently sized. We found several hairs around the room, like on the bedside tables, each day which was not pleasant. We had a balcony but the view was of the back of another hotel. Breakfast was ok, not great, but enough to start the day with. Location is good, only a 1 minute walk from acropolis train station and a 3 minute walk to the actual remains of the acropolis. The hotel is also walking distance to the rest of the city's main attractions. The major negative of this hotel was the poor management of a water outage during our stay. The water supply was cut off one day as the water company was doing major works in the street. The hotel neglected to inform guests of this as we also heard other guests complaining about it that day. The hotel said they were not informed of the water works, however earlier that morning the trucks were already in the street and workers were working on something. I find it hard to believe that the local water company didn't let any residents and businesses in the area know that the water would be shut off in the afternoon. Unfortunately I was in the shower at the time when the water was shut off. I had shampoo in my hair so obviously needed to wash it out. My husband called reception and they said that water would be back on shortly. We waited 10 minutes but it wasn't. So my husband called back and they said it would be 1 hour so they would bring some water bottles to the room so I could at least finish my shower. Another 30 minutes later they bring ice cold bottles of water to the room! Not the most pleasant thing to shower in ice cold water!! And the water outage ended up lasting longer than 1 hour!!! For a large hotel, they should really have a back up water system in case of these situations or other emergencies. And they should give guests a few hours notice, at the very least, BEFORE a situation like this occurs. It's just unacceptable for a hotel of this size to treat guests like this and have no back up plan for themselves. I would not stay here again.

I stayed here 3 nights with my partner on a city break. If you do your homework before leaving home, the hotel is very easy to find being only about 3 minutes walk from the Acropolis metro station(less than half the price of taking a taxi from the airport).

Our room was a good size and was clean with plenty of drawer and cupboard space and the beds were comfortable. We had a room facing the street and weren't disturbed by any noise at night. Only one thing about the room let the hotel down and knocked 2 stars off for me......we stayed in late October and the room was extremely cold at night. Even my partner, who doesn't feel the cold easily commented on it.

We didn't have much dealing with the staff but they were always polite. The front desk staff always greeted us as we passed the desk.

We enjoyed the buffet breakfast. There was always a good selection of hot and cold food including sweet and savory items and tea and coffee and fruit juices.

The hotel is within walking distance of most things you might want to see in Athens, The New Acropolis Museum is 5-6 minutes walk, the Acropolis entrance about 10 minutes (it's a pleasant a nice walk along the base of the Acropolis to get there), the Ancient Agora entrance is 15 minutes, Plaka district is less than 5 minutes and the Parliament building is about 15 minutes. You can get to the Temple of Olympian Zeus in 5 minutes although to reach the entrance will take you longer as it is at the far end of the site. You might want to get the metro or tram to the National Archeological Museum, it took us about 40 minutes to walk there.

I would stay here again, although next time I would probably go when it is warmer.

Room Tip: At Acropolis metro station, with the ticket offices on your right, head up the stairs directly facin...

We stayed here for 3 nights. The front desk staff was great, very helpful & willing to answer our questions , give directions etc. The best thing about this hotel is the location - lots of places to eat & a 5 minute walk to the Acropolis - we went in through the south entrance - much less busy than the main entrance. The rooms are clean & have all the basics but they sure could invest in some new towels. Breakfast was fine - lots to eat & many different choices to appeal to different nationalities. I felt this hotel was good value for the money & I loved that we could so easily walk to many of the things we wanted to see in Athens. If you get a chance to do a day trip to Delphi, do it - it was the highlight of our visit & not at all crowded when we were there. (mid October)

Upon arrival, the front desk came out to help us unload our luggage from the taxi, which was a very nice gesture. The check-in process was simple and adequate, although I didn’t feel the warmth from the staff like others did. It could simply be the timing (we arrived at around 10:30pm) or the fact that we were greeted much warmly earlier at the Greek isles. Our first room was located on the 2nd floor with 3 twin beds, with not very clean looking sheets and very dim lighting. We called to request for a room change as there were only 2 of us and we do not need a 3rd bed to take up all the tiny spaces in the room. The front desk RELUCTANTLY honored our request and told us there was only one other room available. I am not sure how true it was but the 2nd room was 100% better than the first one.

Breakfast: like everyone stated, was fantastic, it has everything from boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, ham, cereal, coffee, juice, tea, fruits, cookies, to even desserts.

WIFI: I am not sure if it is a common issue throughout Greece but we couldn’t get ANY wifi signals in our room. I had to step out of my room and sit on the hallway whenever I need to use to WIFI. We complained to the hotel but they said it is probably jammed up by the overloading usage, well you know what, it is time for an upgrade! We live in a digital era so there is no excuses that my iphone 5 cannot even locate the network name when I am in my room.

Location: Great, although it is a bit hard to find by the cabs, so just have them drop you off at the Acropolis metro if they can’t locate the hotel on GPS (we had enough share of frustration from the cabs in Athens). The Acropolis museum is about 7-10 mins walk and there are bunch of cafes near the hotel (right by the acropolis metro).

TIPS: Take the express bus to Cape Sounion for 6.30 Euro each way instead of paying over 40 euro for a tour. The bus station is about 5 mins walk from the hotel on the main avenues..stop by the information center across from the acropolis museum to obtain more information. I also obtained a lot of useful information from the Backpack hostel next to the hotel as the lady at the front desk there was so much nicer and helpful than our hotel. I might consider staying at the hostel the next time I visit Athens.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the courtyard are quieter. Rooms by the elevator weren't too bad either (the eleva...

Stayed here 7 nights, and was greeted by a very friendly staff member. As soon as we got there they provide you with a map detailing all the places to visit, and gave us prior notice to the strikes that were being held a few days later. The breakfast was very nice and there's plenty of it. The only downside was that we were sure that they weren't changing the bedsheets or vacuuming. Not a problem if your not in the room very much.
The location is amazing as its right in the tourist area, the metro is right around the corner. There are bars and restaurants just around the corner so plenty to do at night. Also only a 2 min walk from the Plaka, where there are more restaurants and plenty of souvenir shops to keep you busy, which are open til late.
If its not a restaurant you want and just some fast food, which is handy if you get there late and tired on the first day then there's this nice kebab place right near the entrance to the metro. The gyros and souvlakis they serve are cheap good food, and its a good place to stock up on drinks.
The Acropolis, New Acropolis Museum, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, Temple of Haphaestus, Stoa of Attalos and Filopappos Hill are all within 10 mins of the hotel.
I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
