“Great audio tour”

I was on Athens on november 2013, to run the Athens Classic Marathon. We went to see the Panathenaic Stadium actually because that's where the Marathons ends, but we were impressed and excited by the tour. You can see all olympic torches and posters of every modern olympic game in a room on a cave. Really remarkable.

Specially if you are on city for some sport related activity, this visit can be a great inspiration.

This is the stadium where Olympic Games of 1896 took place. It carries so much history...Conserved exquisitely well.

“Better Than Expected”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2013

This wasn't on our "Top Attractions" list. We walked by it on our way to the National Gardens and decided to have a closer look. What a bargain--only 3 Euro, which included a very comprehensive headset audio tour- a pleasant surprise after so much inadequate signage in Athens. The history, the architecture, and the directions into the areas leading to where the athletes exit into the arena with photos and printed information was very impressive. In addition to experiencing this 40,000 capacity, beautiful granite stadium up close, we were thrilled to climb up to the top and enjoy the extra ordinary views!

“Excellent Audio tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2013

I was in Athens for the Athens Classic Marathon Nov, 2013. The Panathenaic Stadium is the finish line for the marathon so my friend and I went there a few days beforehand to check it out. Be sure to get the audio tour, it is included in the 3 Euro entry fee and is so interesting, relating the history of the stadium which is quite incredible.

“A few years ago”

My husband ran 6 km a day , every day around the top of this gorgeous stadium. The view from the top is well worth the hike. We lived just behind it for 3 years.
