The visit can be as low key as you want it to be. Just climbing those stairs, sitting in the king's and queen's seats and running a lap can be enough. The audio guide is great, not overwhelming, easy to follow and with the interesting details. The best part? Experiencing the tunnel before coming out in front of the crowd.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

Brilliant, really enjoyed soaking up the atmosphere of this place. It has been well preserved and I would really recommend using the audio guide because it puts the place into context. Also worth a visit, is the press room upstairs where there are posters to see from all the modern Olympic Games as well as all the torches that have been used. It was great to be able to walk all around it and my husband was particularly chuffed to run on the track. Excellent toilets for 50cents

“Wonderful historic site for every athlete”
Reviewed October 29, 2013 via mobile

Thank you Athens for keeping the Panathenaic stadium what it is. A truly marvelous place. My daughter and I sat down the middle part of the stadium seats and were breathless by what this symbolizes and its place in history - the birth of the Modern Olympics. To walk at the same track were athletes run was awesome! Great place and a must see. Oh, the torch display was also a great bonus in and by itself!

“Stadium visit”

Very interesting from afar as it is cordoned off and you cannot enter. It would be nice to walk about and feel like you were really there and not just looking at a picture.

“Marble Marble Everywhere”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

Beautiful place and well worth a visit. You can stand outside and take pictures for free or pay a very reasonable entry and actually go inside. If you are so minded you can even have a run around the inside track - while we were there a group of school children were having their PE session - wow, how many children can say that they have done that? The audio guide is excellent and easily followed. You can walk in the tunnel and go through to a room housing all the olympic torches which are well worth looking at. If you're feeling fit you can walk up to the top and see views of the temple of Zeus and the Acropolis.
