The cost for the stadium is only 3E and its 1.5E if you have a student ID card. I wasn't initially going to pay to go in, and I am so glad that I decided to. They provide you with a free audio tour device with your ticket, and it was extremely interesting. I won't spoil the surprise for you, but if you like the Olympics...it's definitely a must-see. I would also recommend taking a run around the track. It's just really cool to be able to say you ran a lap at the stadium where the Olympics were born!

Really interesting insight into the history of the stadium and the modern olympics. The audio tour is free and thoroughly engrossing.

If you have a passion for sport, this is a great place to visit. The audio tour is ok, but the highlights is being able to touch all the previous Olympic torch and run on the track.

Anyone with an interest in Athletics and the Olympic Games cannot miss a visit to the Panathenaic Stadium. To walk around the track or to sit in the spectators seats (which must have been quite uncomfortable!!)
It is hard to believe when you are looking at the stadium that this is where the modern Olympic Games started over 100 years ago.

Also great for a family on a budget as it is free of charge.

Entrance is 3 ? including an audio guide, definitely worth seeing for the architecture and significance. The English audio guide is easy to understand, and with lots of good information and extra tidbits.

A passage leads to a small room containing most of the Olympic torches for the past 60 years, good display that gives you the opportunity to inspect them closely.

Go on a dry day as most of the tour is outside and there is plenty of opportunity to just sit and relax on one of the many seats.

Water is priced fairly, at 50¢ for 750 ml.
