“Fantastic stadium - inspires you. A must see in Athens.”

Great stadium and tribute to the thousands of people who have kept the dream alive. Climb to the top, sit in the thrones, run on the track, wave to the crowd, feel the vibrancy, hold the torches, remember the games. Enjoy yourself....marvel at the lack of graffitti.

Shout at the girl because the handset wasn't charged up enough!

Stand on the gold medal podium - look like a wally!

Great fun.

It is a rewading experience. Make sure to take the audio device available in several languages .
It is very informative and helpfull you will have a good understanding of the significance that athletics had in the lives of anciend Greeks.
Go through the tunel that takes you under the hill. It a museum fo IOC.
You can walk there from Syndagma station, when you get out fro the station turn left and at100 metres go trough the gate of the Gardens get out from the opasite end. Turn right walk 300 metres and you are there.
As you can understand it is diagonaly behind the parliament house as you geting out from the matro at Sintagma.
It is a magnificent building take planty of photos

“Lots of fun for kids”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

Our entire family enjoyed the Panathenaic Stadium; it was beautiful and pleasantly quiet- we were the only people there at the time. The kids especially enjoyed running around and pretending to win medals while my husband and I listened to the audio guides.

Whether you are an Olympics fan or not a visit here is inspiring. For a meagre entry fee you get an audio tour which is easy to follow and easy to listen to - most importantly it tells you about this wonderful stadium. Don't just stop outside and look in - take an hour or so and see it all. The memorabilia up the tunnel is great.
