Probably father of all great sport arenas. You can feel the anctient history there. Hard to belive, that it is so old. 40k people were watching olympics there!

It's worth getting tired walking through it. I liked the views of the city from the top and I couldn't help but sit in the "royal chairs" at the ground level. You can tell this is a historic stadium just by looking at it.

Very well done and well preserved.

Hats off to the Athenians for maintaining this site so beautifully. The audio guide (I think comes with the fee) but get it anyway.

This site is probably more for those of us who like the Olympics/stadiums but worth a visit even if you are mildly interested.

They were over half an hour late opening the stadium, but when they finally got it open, it was worth the wait. There's a museum down the tunnel and the whole thing is an amazing work in marble!!

Liked the restoration of the ancient Panathenaic Stadium for the 1896 Olympic Games.
Saw it several times while in a car. If we had more time would have stopped and seen it better.
