If you enjoy a good hike and want the best view of Athens, then this is a must. It will be tiring so take your time and enjoy it, after all you are on vacation no need to rush. Make sure to get there on time for the sunset, you will then truly see how beautiful Athens is as you see the sun disappear behind its mountains.

Ok, you can get the funicular for the last few metres but it is quite a climb anyway and apart from some great views over the city, and beyond to Piraeus, there is not much there apart from a restaurant, a bar and a tiny church. Overrated in my opinion.

we chose a bad day to go up as it as blowing a gale! however the views are incredible, you can see 360d. there is an option to walk up but we chose the Teleferik which takes minutes and is 7euro return. There is a restaurant at the top and also a small authentic church. Worth a trip up for the views alone - open day and night if you want to see Athens at her best!

If you're into nature and enjoy a good hike, this is the place to visit. You can take a tram to the top and to get back down, but the hike isn't too demanding and the scenery while going up is pretty nice. All in all, it takes about 15-20 minutes to the top depending on how fast you walk and once on the top you would think you walked for hours since it seems so high up. Great 360 degree views of Athens to include the Acropolis. There are also some cafes once you get to the top. Highly recommend!

The funicular ride to the top of the hill is fast. You can also climb the hill but it might be tiring and also depends on who all are travelling with you. When we were there it was slightly cloudy so the breeze was splendid coupled with the city view. There is a restaurant also on the top of the hill and a church. The Funicular has a set time and even if you want to go down you might have to wait for some time.
