“are we nearly there yet !!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

Lost count of the number of stairs to get half way up this mountain, we then got the 'Fenicular ' to the top, and judging by the few beetroot coloured and breathless but brave individuals who walked all the way i suggest take the fenicular.
Take water drinks and food up with you as the small restaurant/cafe at the top is expensive.
Having said that the view is spectacular a full 360 degree of Athens and beyond. It is worth staying until darkness falls as the city lights up and takes on a whole new look beautiful.

“Not worth the trip”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

Funicular is pricy and not much to see up there. There's an overpriced cafe. Beautiful view of Athens but it's still hard to see the sea as there is a lot of pollution in the area!

“Amazing view, don't miss it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2012

Enjoy the view from the top? Mt. Lycabettus is the place to go then while in Athens! An extraordinarily beautiful view to all sides of Athens. One can enjoy the view to the Parliament, most Governmental buildings, the National Gardens, Universities, major streets and buildings of Athens. Been to Athens many times before, but this is just the first time I got there! Definitely worthed! There is also a beautiful cafe and a restaurant at the top, which offers the same amazing view, but from what I heard ( haven't visited it), it is really pricey! I guess that if you want Athens "down on your feet" while on a meal, then you gotta pay for that!

“Great view but ...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

This hill gives a great view over Athens & is a particular favourite for photographers looking for sunset shots. But the guidebooks dont make it clear that the summit is entirely occupied by an (expensive) cafe / restaurant and a church. Consequently everyone is squished into a small space beyond the church. Not good if you hoped to sit quietly & contemplate the sunset and the view of Athens. Also if you choose to take the funicular its quite expensive (about 7 euro per person) but its hot steep walk up otherwise and even the walk to the funicular station from the metro involves climbing about 8 flights of steps

“Try to catch the sunset there but come early”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2012

Sunset from the top is beautiful, covering Athens with burning colours. However around sunset time it gets very crowded for little watching space so make sure to arrive at least 30 mins ahead of time.
