“One of the best sites in Athens”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2014

Athens is dominated by Acropolis. Temple of Zeus, however, gives a much better idea of the sheer grandeur of ancient Greece, with its huge size and tall columns. It is also much less crowded and you can take time to appreciate the beauty of the structure. My advise - Visit this first thing in the morning and then walk up to Acropolis. Buy the full Acropolis ticket here itself (that includes this and other sites) rather than buying just this attraction's ticket. That also saves ticket queuing time at Acropolis as this is much less crowded

“Worth visiting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 14, 2013

Although you can see a part of this site from the street it is worth going into the site to get a feel for the enormity of its original size. Try and go at a time when there will not be a lot of people there as you get a whole different feeling. They have washrooms available also. You get a great view of the Acropolis also from this temple. You do not need a lot of time there but I would recommend at minimum 1/2 hour. If you buy the very reasonably priced group ticket (includes the Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Hadrian,s Library, etc. and this site) it is very cheap to see.

“Impressive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2013

The sheer size of the columns is massively impressive. It does take a bit of imagination to envision how it could or would have been, given the current state and the lack of much information at the actual site. The rich history though warrants a visit regardless and is most definitely worth the time.

“Another piece of greek history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2013

There isn't much to see there, only the ruins of the building that were once there, but if you think about all that happened in the last two milleniums, it's really impressive that a piece of it still exists. I enjoyed visiting the ruins, kind of gives you the idea that such architecture existed all around the city, and that history surrounds you all the time you are at Athens.

“history at your corner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2013

we loved the site, yes many of the tourist looking for the whole building standing, but just think about the last century... wars and destructions and mix the other couple of hundred years and technology was still in baby shoes.. it was incredible to breath the air and imaganing the time when all this building fuctioned as a geat civilization... for me and my family, it was priceless... Higly recommend it for all who loves ancient civilizations and history... would go again...
