“A worthwhile visit ”
Reviewed July 17, 2014 via mobile

I am not Jewish but I am very interested in Jewish history and was impressed by this museum - it is restricted by the space of the building but it does a good job with what it has - the museum being on several floors

I had been out seeing other things in Athens earlier in the heat (and was trying to cram in as much as possible) so I probably didn't give every bit of info on exhibits full attention BUT I found it very interesting and well laid out, plus the staff were very helpful and that added to my trip

“Incredible museum with interesting history of Jews”
Reviewed June 26, 2014

Really enjoyed this museum - the staff was very friendly and helpful, museum was perfect size (manageable in 1-1.5 hours without getting bored), content was interesting and included unique Jewish history. Particularly enjoyed the temporary photography exhibition.

This is what small, independent museums should all be like. The layout, design and information available in Greek and English were all superb. As others have mentioned the museum covers Jewish history and culture in Greece - the WWII sections were especially interesting to me.

Meanwhile just down the road at Syntagma, Golden Dawn supporters are demonstrating outside parliament. Worrying times.

“Very moving”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

This is a small, relatively easy museum to find. The museum gives a concise perspective on the Jewish folks who have lived in greece since b.c..the presentation of the tough times before 1930 and the incredible accomplishments of the resistance during the war give the visitor an increased respect for the minority population who lived here. It was noted in the museum that87 % of Greek Jews died in concentration camps during WWII and today a community of about 2500 live in athens, a small percentage of those who died in camps or in defense of their country. A very moving tribute to a minority of Greeks who gave their all for their country

“Interesting museum of Jewish history in Greece”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

This museum has a lot of interesting things inside and covers the history of the Jewish people in Greece. To me, the most interesting part covered the invasion of Greece by the Italians and Germans during WWII. There are black & white photographs of people involved in the resistance to occupation. It spotlights several of those who fought the invaders and tells what eventually happened to them.
