Part of the acropolis and as with much (if not all) of the site it's impressive but more so for the history than what you get to see.

The Theater of Dionysus is the most ancient theater of the world, and that tis very interesting, the most famous known ancient Greek, and poets had her premiere performances of their plays; The auditorium was first made of wood and later one they were reconstructed in marble; the theater is sculpted on the rock of Acropolis and had a capacity for 17000. A section of the stone auditoirium survive, all the rest find it in your imagination., it's the theater of Dionysos !

A good example of a theatre, able to walk around most areas, would have given it a 5 but the security guard was a little whistle happy when he saw some people going the wrong way, made me jump out of my skin. Not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.

The Theater of Dionisios is inside the complex of Acropolis. It's amazing to sit at it's steps and go back in the time. Breathtaking!

Same as the rest of the ruins in the Acropolis, a lot is left to imagination. They have done a fantastic job at preserving the ruins, but to really appreciate it, you have to think about how old it is, and what was done there so many years ago.
