“Great location with a comfortable stay in Athens”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

We chose Amalia Athens for our 4 nights/5 days stay in Athens for our Honeymoon during the month of May 2013. The hotel is located at the heart of Athens, just a few steps from the Syntagma square and the Hellenic Parliament.

We booked a room overlooking the national gardens/parliament and must say that was pleasantly surprised to have such refreshing views right at the heart of Athens. The room was well done and the housekeeping services were very nice. They offered us WiFi access for 10 euros for our entire stay of 5 days. The positives about the hotel are:

1) Great location
2) Close to the Syntagma Metro station
3) Close to Plaka area
4) All ancient sights are within walk able distances
5) Good complementary breakfast
6) Crisp and professional services

What can be improved/not so good:

1) The hotel has an amazing rooftop view of the Acropolis, but it was disappointing to see that there were no roof top restaurant/bar to savor those views.

2) The protests at Syntagma square forces the metro station to shut down. And traffic snarls take place right in-front of the Hotel.

Overall, I will highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Athens.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms facing the National Garden, even if they are expensive. The higher the floor, the quie...

We stayed here mostly because we needed to be on the X95 bus a 4am, and this is about 200 steps away. But, its more than just convenient to that bus. The staff is great, the room was nice, and the bathroom very nice and clean. Just one thing, you are right on Amalius(sp) and it is very busy. If noise is a problem, ask for a room not facing the gardens, might cut down on the noise. I would recommend this hotel in a minute. Oh, and the price was right!

From the airport either the Metro or X95 bus provide 45-60 minute easy and cost effective access to the hotel - both stop within 100m of the hotel.
The bedroom was well decorated and modern, with all the advertised features. Wifi was €5.00 for 24 hours of logged in time, but there was free access on a public computer in reception.
All the staff were efficient, friendly, spoke English and were helpful. There was a good selection of food for breakfast in a pleasantly airy restaurant.
Great value for money.

Room Tip: If you need a bath ask for one, as some rooms only have showers and they tend to be a bit cramped.

We stayed at Athens Greece Amalia hotel for 8 nights, between 4/29/13 and 5/9/13. Everything was perfect, beginning with the location of the hotel, close to Syntagma Place, which enabled us to get everywhere in the city and outside the city very quickly. The service was excellent in every aspect, at the reception desk, in the room, at the breakfast lounge. We definitely will come back to the Amalia hotel next time we come to Athens.

We enjoyed 5 nights at the Amalia hotel which is situated 100 metres from Syntagma Square right in the centre. The staff are amongst the most courteous and helpful we have experienced anywhere. Comfortable rooms and great value

We were initially looking for a B&B in Athens which was easily accessible by public transport when we happened to stumble upon Amalia Hotel. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Syntagma Square and was very easy to find. The hotel is also around a 10-15 minute walk to the Acropolis Museum which is very convenient.

We only stayed at the hotel for one night but everything went smoothly without any hassles. The people at reception were very helpful with our queries and made sure that we were comfortable. The room itself was sufficient for the both of us although the bathroom was a little on the smaller side.
