This place looks good from the lobby and when you view online. The rooms were a nice size but there were bedbugs and the staff didnt even help with our bags. The breakfast offered in the morning is not edible. I would not recommend.

We wanted to take a train to Meteora. Unfortunately, the train arrives around 11pm. So we booked the hotel right across from the train station. The price is really good. To our surprise, the hotel room is pretty comfortable with big bathroom, and with a shower curtain. We stayed in a more expensive hotels before. They did not have a shower curtain, and the bathrooms were tiny. The breakfast was just OK, not as good as the other one. But hey, for the price we paid, I have no complain. It is very close to the Metro station too.

My friend and I are currently staying here for four nights. This morning we woke up to ants all over our beds, floor, and bathroom and we are covered in bite marks. When we went down to reception to ask for a new room the guy did not even speak to us let alone offer an apology.

The hotel is situated close to the metro and opposite a supermarket. It's a long metro ride from Piraeus but easy enough on the metro.

I would never stay here again and if you value your hygiene I suggest you don't stay here.

Oh, and I'm writing this at breakfast because there is no wifi in the rooms.

I stayed at this hotel during a study abroad trip in the summer with about 15 people total. Overall the hotel was great, near the metro and close to the heart of the city and the Acropolis. The rooms are a good size but a little cramped for more than 3 people. The bathrooms where large for the area and great. A funny thing about the rooms is that in order to have electricity you have to have your key card in a slot by the door. Well my group some what bypassed this by folding up a piece of paper and tucking it into the electricity slot to charge all our electronics throughout the day. The wifi access (needed for my lessons) was spotty in the rooms but was accessible on the roof. There is also a super market across the road, so that was also a plus. Overall highly recommend for the location and access.

If you are looking for a very convenient location after comming off the Greek Ferry system and later departing by Train to other parts of Greece the Oscar Hotel is a great option. The location of this hotel is directly across the street from the main Train Station Lariissa Station which has train connections to many other parts of Greece as well as international connection. The Oscar Hotel is the closest hotel to the train station, about 300 yards away. About 100 yards from the front entrance is also the subway station allowing very easy access to all the Athens sites. I took the subway directly to the Acropolis Stop, came upstairs and was walking the Acroplolis all in 10 Minutes time from the Hotel.Stops at Syntagma square (where the Greek Evzone Soldiers) Palace Guards change is also a direct stop alonf with Amonia Square. So for easy access to all things "train" this is your Hotel. The hotel itself has a very courteous staff, has extra security by alowing only card access to elevators. The rooms and halls are a bit outdated but this is not the hotel you go to for your main stay. Its a great transistioning spot that allows access to sites, trains etc. There is also a grocery store directly across the street (Carefor) that is well stocked and prices are not tourist inflated. On the roof of this hotel there is a nice surprise, a pool and lounge bar that is open air and allows for a nice retreat to unwind.
One other note: From the Piraeus Ferry you can get to this Hotel via subway so dont spend 15-20 Euros on a taxi...The Subway for an all day ticket cost me 4.80 Euro and I was able to not only get to the Hotel but later turn around and use it to go down town and see all the sites. Upon getting off the Ferry in Piraues find your way to the pier 6-7 (where Blue Star usually is)....Directly across the street is acess to the subway and the map to all places is posted all over the place. You are looking for the Larrisa Station stop...When you come upstairs at the Larissa Station stop you will be seeing the Hotel directly on your right...Cant miss it....

Room Tip: Note this Hotel also allows you to do a partial day stay over in the event you only want to park for...

I stayed at the Oscar Hotel in Athens for the night whilst passing through on my way home from visiting the island and still can't believe how great this hotel was! There were four of us looking for a hotel with a rooftop pool as our flight wasn't until the evening, and we chose this one due to the really low-cost rooms.

Not expecting a lot, we were amazed to be upgraded to a suite, complete with a huge balcony, jacuzzi bath and sofas. The staff were amazing, really lovely and allowed us to leave our bags and spend the day by the pool after checking out.

The location is brilliant if you aren't looking to be out and about a lot - the area didn't feel hugely safe after dark but there were places nearby to get food and drinks if you wanted. The Metro station is a 2 minute walk away so does provide easy access to the centre.

Breakfast was included and there was a great selection of food, served as a buffet. The rooms are basic but clean, and the air conditioning (once we found the controls!) was fine. It's not exactly luxury, but for the money you pay it is certainly fantastic value!

All in all we wished we could stay another night and were sad to be leaving!
