Radisson Blu Park Hotel Athens
Ranked #48 of 281 Hotels in Athens
Reviewed March 29, 2013

Park Hotel Athens is one of the oldest hotels in Athens. Recently renovated it features large, convenient rooms decorated with green 'park' colours. Having visited Park many times in the past for its great italian restaurant 'Galo Nero', this time we spent one night as part of a special offer that included a dinner upstairs in the asian restaurant.
Overall experience was great. Stuff is very friendly (though probably they have one of the smallest reception areas you will ever see). Rooms are quite spacious, clean and offer a convenient stay. Rooms on the back offer a great view to Acropolis, rooms in front oversee the park. I would expect a bigger breakfast buffet but everything was very tasty.
Hints: Ask for a high floor room. If your room is on the font it will save you from some street noise (quite busy street). Don't forget to visit both Galo Nero and St'Astra restaurants. Food and service are superb, and the night view from St'Astra restaurant is spectacular.
Worth visiting, would definitely stay again.

A very nice hotel clean and well run, nice sized rooms and a metro station just 5 minute walk from hotel. Staff could not have been more helpful nothing was too much trouble for them, very good breakfast choice.
I would not hesitate to stay again at this hotel.

Room Tip: We did not try the roof top resturant wish we had other guests assured us we had missed a real treat...

Good: The staff was very friendly and knew their job. Considering that other Athenians I met were not so polite or friendly (they do have a financial crisis going on so this is understandable), the hotel staff was extraordinary. Every request to the front desk was efficiently handled. The meals were very good, with Mediterranean foods available at all times. The view from the top floor restaurant was excellent, especially at night with the Parthenon lit up. Everything in the room worked as expected and the standard room was relatively large. Our group received free wi-fi. The olive shampoo and body gel was top grade - I took an entire set each of three days that will supply me at home for a month.

Bad: Although there's a large park across the street, the hotel's location was not a very interesting part of town, and not walking distance to any tourist sites. I was there for a business meeting and had a very reasonable group rate, 85Euro, but I don't know what an individual traveler would be expected to pay.

All in all, this was a good hotel with excellent service. But if you're looking for an easy walk to the Acropolis, this isn't it.

Our golden anniversary, March 2013. We decided to go it, just together, but it turned out a family event.
With Demitri greeting us ,and treating us like old friends ,escorting us into the luxurious reception, and clearly explaining the various areas for relaxing or dining in the wonderfull resteraunts, and bars.Providing full English and international menus with fine wines.
This hotel is located in the heart of the historical city of Athens . Our exellent superior room was at the top of the hotel with views both day and night of many monuments, with the Athens by night being amazing. This hotel employs the most friendly efficient staff you could wish for , with Roula; Sissy; Sophie , Penny and Dimi, amongst the many others making our visit so memorable and special. We shall remember you all , thank you, here is to the next time.

A very successful stay of three days in March 2013. Standard room spacious and adequate. Reception staff quite wonderful. Breakfasts first class. Less music in the dining room would be an improvement. Would stay there again.

On arrival and entry to the hotel it did not appear to be a 5 star. We were shown to a standard room which was pleasant, but decided to upgrade to a suite. The extra was definitely worth it as it made all the difference. However, what made this hotel really special to us was the amazing staff at reception. Dimitris was exceptional and Sofia and Nikos (front office manager) were extremely helpful whenever they could be. No doubt about it, the reception staff are truly 5 star!

Room Tip: Check out the upgrade to a suite on the 7th floor with views over the acropolis.
