This hotel is a hub for tour groups which makes it difficult to use the elevators many times throughout the day. It does have a wonderful rooftop restaurant with an incredible view of the Acropolis and Parthenon. And, the food is delicious.

The rooms were adequate and seemed clean. However, on our second day there, the bathroom developed a strong urine smell. We didn't complain right away but when we did complain on the third day, the front desk sent someone to our room and it was determined that it smelled because we had washed out some clothes in the bathroom sink? Huh?? The fact that our wash was done a day after the smell had started was overlooked.

We went back for a second stay, didn't wash out any clothes, and our bathroom didn't smell. So maybe they were right. LOL.

Dear LivinLifeinDunedin,

thank you for choosing Divani Palace Acropolis for your stay and for taking some time to share your review.

We are surprised to read about the elevators, since they are 2 and the groups of people are shared between them, for the avoidance of queues.

As far as the smell is concerned, we had no complaints during your stay here-our rooms are checked thoroughly by our housekeeping manager before they are given to our guests.

As a 5 star hotel we aim to offer to our guests exceptional services and experiences.

Thank you for your time.

Firstly the positives - the location is great. We spent four nights in the Divani Palace and walked everywhere. A short stroll and you are at the Acropolis or the Acropolis Museum. The hotel is located in the Koukaki district and nearby there are many nice restaurants (our favourite was Kalamaki) bars and cafes. Staff were for the most part pleasant. The rooftop restaurant was very nice with excellent food and wine and a nice view of the Acropolis. The main negative was the challenge of reaching the 6th floor when a tourist group checked in and the hotel’s old elevators cannot cope. It seems this hotel is popular with groups. Also, the hotel really would need to modernise it’s systems as check in/out takes far too long. It felt 1980’s. However, the location makes up for most things.

Room tip: If you have requested a double bed ensure you do not get two twin beds pushed together. Beds were not the most comfortable.

Dear T01Bhelsinki,

thank you for choosing Divani Palace Acropolis for your stay and for the time you took to share your review.

We appreciate your kind comments about the great location, in the heart of Athens and the main touristic sites, the well educated and trained staff, the restaurant on the roof top with top gastronomy delights and exceptional views to the Acropolis.

We are surprised to read your review about the elevator, since we constantly proceed to renovations and refurbishments. For this particular group, they exceeded maybe the weight restriction, that every elevator has.

Additionally we are surprised to read about the procedure of check in and check out, since we recently updated our platforms, in order to meet our guests expectations and decrease the waiting time for them.

As a 5 star hotel, we try to offer to our guests, the best possible services and experiences through the constant renovations and experience improvement.

Will be our pleasure to welcome you back soon.

With appreciation.

My husband and I spent a few nights in Athens after 2 weeks in the Ionian Islands before returning home after our honeymoon. This hotel was perfectly situated in Athens, close to the Acropolis and the neighborhoods of Plaka and Monastiraki. The staff was courteous and professional and sent a dessert up when we arrived to help us celebrate our honeymoon. When we needed to leave for our flight they arranged a taxi to take us to the airport. To top it off the rooftop restaurant is a gem with great food and a beautiful view of the Parthenon lit up at night. Overall we had a great stay and it was the perfect ending to our honeymoon in Greece.

We stayed at the Davini Palace on the last day of our trip. Great location! Only blocks away from the Acropolis. The room was very nice with a wonderful view of the Acropolis which was lovely all lit up at night. Comfortable bed and wonderful bathroom. Our stay included the continental breakfast which was delicious. The staff was very helpful with directions and any other questions we had. Reasonably priced!

A well presented and comfortable hotel very close to the Acropolis. From the roof top restaurant you can see the Acropolis whilst you have dinner. The room was quite large and in good order. Staff seemed friendly enough, which is always a bonus. Breakfast was a buffet style affair, and the choice was excellent. The pool they have is really just that. It's quite small and situated between tall buildings, so there's lots of shadow and feels like you're in a canyon! However, they have a bar nearby so you can sit with a tall drink watching people paddle. Very good location for going to the Acropolis or wandering through the streets to the Plaka, that famous old part of the city.
