Myself and my partner stayed here last week and chose the hotel for its good reviews. We weren't disappointed. The hotel staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, happy to help with any queries we had.The location is excellent. Very close to main bars and restaurants andthe main historic sites. Beautiful view of the acropolis from the terrace. Standard room is a good size. Breakfast had loads of variety and was of a high quality. Highly recommend

I stayed here on my honeymoon, in an upgraded room with an Acropolis view, and returned five years later for a stay in a cheaper room. Overall, the hotel is comfortable, is in a great location for tourists and is clean. The roof bar is nice for an evening drink but come early for a seat. The restaurant is fancy and good, but not great -- many better choices in Athens. On the negative side, its expensive, the pillows need upgrading, and the maids make too much noise in the hallways -- a major inconvenience when we are on vacation and trying to sleep in. There does not appear to be a concierge, and the front desk staff were NOT helpful at all with ideas for going out, restaurants, etc. Someone should be ready to help on greek music, authentic food, etc. because Athens can be an overwhelming place to visit, with lots of choices and a fair number of tourist traps -- local advice would be much appreciated. But overall i'd recommend it as a central, clean and comfortable place for tourists in Athens.

Room Tip: I think our room was a x27 room, and it was near the maids closet. There was a LOT of noise from the...

This hotel has a terrific location in a quiet part of the Plaka and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We initially made a reservation for two nights and planned to travel outside Athens for our other three nights in Greece. We intended to visit the monasteries at Meteora if that was practical. Mr. Panos, the manager, immediately arranged for a two-day, one-night tour to the monasteries, with a visit to Delphi included. Unfortunately, the Electra Palace had no rooms available for the night following our excursion. Mr. Panos made a note to see if a room became available and he made a reservation at the hotel's sister hotel, the Electra, a few blocks away. Upon our return he remembered the circumstances and was able to give us a room for the two remaining nights in Athens. He also cancelled the reservation at the Electra. Upon learning that it was my wife's birthday, Mr. Panos immediately had a nice bottled of excellently chilled wine sent to our room with compliments of the hotel and staff. We truly felt at home in this hotel. The breakfast, served in the open courtyard and airy dining room, was excellent and the servers were friendly. A memorable experience that the hotel provides is lying in the rooftop pool looking at a magnificent view of the Acropolis. The rooms, while not especially large, are well appointed, comfortable and clean. My wife's only complaint was that the hair dryer needed a piece that would better direct the air flow. The Acropolis museum, which was the reason for our visiting Athens again, was a short walk away as were the myriad restaurants and shops of the Plaka. There may be hotels equal to the Electra Palace in Athens, but it is hard to believe that there are any that are better.

Room Tip: Although our rooms did not have a view, some rooms have a view of the Acropolis.

This hotel is in a great location with an amazing view of the Acropolis. Definitely recommend booking in for dinner at their rooftop restaurant if you can to watch the sunset over it. Can't fault the location, service or room. Everything was fabulous.

We stayed at Electra palace for 3 night June 1st and this hotel really exceeded what I thought. The room was very nice and it was located in the best spot. Walking distance to everything. The staff was great and breakfast buffet was soooo good. I really have nothing but GREAT things to say about this hotel. I really recommend it to anyone who wants to be in Athens in the middle of shopping, historical sights and great food.

This very comfortable hotel has the absolute best location in old town Athens, the Plaka. You can walk to the Acropolis, shopping and many excellent restaurants. The breakfast is served in a pretty courtyard and was a delicious buffet. The view from the rooftop is unbelievable, especially at night.

We stayed at the Electra Palace Hotel for two nights on May 13 and 14, 2014 as a pre-trip for our cruise. The hotel was very nice, there was free wifi in the lobby that worked fine, the rooms were very nice, the buffet breakfast was great, and the location could not have been better to walk to all of the main tourist attractions. We took the Metro from the airport to the stop by the Parliament building for 20 Euros for 3 adults. We walked about 3 blocks slightly downhill to our hotel with no problem with luggage on wheels. We walked to the acropolis to view the Parthenon and it was an easy walk. We were only about two blocks to Ermou street which had all of the shops and ourdoor restaurants/cafes. I downloaded Rick Steves walking tours of both the Athens City Walk and the Tour of the Acropolis on my ipad and it worked great. No need for a tour guide. All the major sites were covered. Watch it before you go too. We really enjoyed Athens and were surprised how hugh the city is. Bought really nice leather handbags made in Greece.
