We have just returned from the Electra Palace In Athens. A Fabulous Hotel in a great Location.Easy to walk everywhere. Close proximity to the trains and Trams. Make sure you get the superior rooms with the views of the Acropolis as these really are worth the extra. We had room 619 which was the corner room closest to the views.would recommend. While here book dinner in the restaurant it has panoramic views of the Acropilis. Book early and ask for a window table. The food is superb and the staff really attentive, a wonderful experience.

My husband and I spent a week in Athens entirely at the Electra Palace and found it to be perfect. Great location, right in the heart of the Plaka, with a gorgeous view of the Acropolis at night... What else is there?! Well, actually, quite a bit - we found the staff to be polite and helpful. They even helped get us tickets to a pro soccer game in Athens (wild fun - riot police - I was about the only female in the stadium - crazy chanting, etc.. I would recommend for anyone adventerous). Super close to fun food, archeological sites and the metro. Loved it!

My husband and I stayed here for a few days to kick off our honeymoon in the Greek Isles. Our flight was repeatedly delayed and rebooked throughout the trip from Boston to Athens, and then our bags were lost so by the time we got to the hotel in the middle of the night we were pretty bedraggled. We're both experienced travelers but we were pretty beaten up by the time we got to the Palace. The concierge at the hotel took one look at us and immediately put us at ease. He was so helpful and called the airport to arrange for our bags to be delivered as soon as possible and made sure we had some toiletries to tide us over. When we opened our room, we were surprised with a complimentary bottle of wine. Every detail was taken care of for us and throughout our stay everybody was incredibly helpful and friendly...plus you can't beat the location right in the center of Plaka. We really appreciated our stay at the hotel and we'd go back again.

We stayed here for 4 days at the end of our honeymoon after a week long cruise from Istanbul. The hotel was in a great location in the Plaka district, so there was plenty of places to eat and drink within a five minute walk. The room was spacious, but typical European bed, very flat and hard. The bathroom was nice except for the mildew smell, which is probably due to the shower doors that do not keep the water from getting on the bathroom floor. We requested a room with a balcony and view of the Acropolis, which we took advantage of during sunset with a nice bottle of Greek wine. We had to wait several hours before we could get into our room, but it was worth the wait for just the view. We pretty much walked everywhere since taxis are pricey. It's very close to most of the big tourist sites -- Acropolis, Temple of Zeus, Syntygma Square, and if you're in for a longer walk, the National Archeological Museum. We had an early morning flight out of Athens and the front desk arranged for a taxi pick up at 3:00 am. There was a complimentary breakfast, but my husband and I preferred their fast food of feta stuffed pastries. Definitely check out Brettos in the Plaka, it was our favorite bar in Athens. Their wine prices were also reasonable.

We just returned from a long weekend in Athens with our 7 and 4 year olds.

We really loved the Electra Palace. It was clean, FRIENDLY, and in an excellent location. We could walk everywhere with the kids which is a REAL PLUS!! Historical destinations were easy to get to with sites and shops to look at along the way. There were plenty of restaurants and tourist places near by to easily fill up the days.

Breakfast was nice and the kids LOVED the indoor pool.

We would go back!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay in what is described as a 5 star hotel. It is well located, centrally in Athens, a reasonable walk from all the major sights there.

The hotel was priced quite low for a 5 star, and although it has some good facilities, largish well maintained and equipped rooms, many lifts, good facilities, good service, my personal feelings would put this in a good 4 star category. It is how I would expect a good standard 4 star to be, it is not like an international 5 star hotel. But, prices, when we travelled, were 4 star prices, so we got what we paid for.

Therefore no complaints, and good relationship between price and quality provided, good service. I hope this personal advice helps other travellers with a decision.

Although this hotel is not cheap, it is fantastically located hotel in the central area of Plaka. All the major sites of Athens are within 10-15 minutes walking distance and there are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants close by.

The rooms themselves are spacious, with a large double bed, plenty of space to move around in and a large clean bathroom.

The breakfast at the hotel was good with a good range of hot and cold food, fresh orange juice and pastries and cakes.

I had intended to use the hotel gym, but didn't even get round to seeing it!

There is a rooftop pool/terrace near the hotel's restaurant that have amazing views of the Acropolis.

The only negative were the reception staff who weren't very helpful or friendly on several occassions when we needed assistance.

All in all, Athens is a spectacular city and this hotel is extremely well placed to enjoy the sites of Athens.
