We spent four nights at this hotel. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable hotel in a quiet neighborhood right near the Acropolis, this is the place to stay. Though the rooms are a bit dated, the beds are very comfortable, and the place is kept very clean. The bathroom is small but adequate. Breakfast is more than adequate, and the staff is quite warm and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the Acropolis.

right at the hart of athens, main atractions just a walk away.
Nice people, affordable, great location, two minutes to the new acropolis museum, the acropole, plaka and monasteriki right ahead, adrian gate and olimpos on the right, a five minute walk. Simple but very good breakfast. Taxis always nearby if you need one. Metro station two minutes walking.

Room Tip: Upper floors are better than ground floor

My mother, my 3yr old daughter and I, flew to Europe and Athens happened to be our second country to visit. on our 2nd day in Athens my baby got very ill. The staff was simply AMAZING. they helped me with information to a local hospital, then took us breakfast to our room. They kept checking on us to see how my baby was doing. They even gave us emotional support. I was so desperate as my baby was getting worse with the virus she caught overseas. All I wanted was to fly bck home. I had to cancel our trip to Santorini and they helped with "EVERYTHING" we need it. I'll be eternally greatful to the amazing staff : Spyros, Barbro, Monda, Rena, Dina and Ilias were like family to us. we incredible outstanding service. Amazing views from our room .Simply the BEST!!!! Needless to say on our next trip to Athens this coming August we will be staying again in Phillipos Hotel.

Thank you for your kind feedback following your recent stay with us.

I am thrilled that you found Philippos as "the best hotel in Athens", our personal contribution to solve the guests unexpected difficulties is what sets us apart from other fine hotels in Athens.

It is always so nice to read such complimentary comments about our staff as they aim to make every guests' stay unique. I am delighted that our front desk personnel was especially flexible and efficient on a difficult stay. I will ensure that your kind comments are passed onto them and that their service is duly recognised.

I do hope that we will have the opportunity of welcoming you back to the hotel this coming August, please consider the Philippos as your Athenian residence.

This is a great little hotel in the heart of the historic city, close to the acropolis and the museum, platka and the metro. The rools are small, but ours had a view of the acropolis. The staff is great and they really want to assist you and make your visit to the city enjoyable. The owners operated a more upscale hotel around the corner -- The Herodian, -- and you should have dinner on the roof top there. The food is good, the wine selection nice, the service good, and the views -- amazing. Take advantage of it,

We truly appreciate you taking the time to review Philippos hotel so favorably and are exceedingly happy that our services helped set us apart from the many fine hotels in Athens. We are also grateful for your compliments about your experience at " Point A " our new roof top bar restaurant of our sister property, Herodion our four star hotel a few meters away from the Philippos.

We will pass on your nicest impressions to our team and hope to see you back very soon in both our family run hotels.

The Hotel Philippos is lovely - friendly staff, good breakfast, fantastic location (perfect for sightseeing), and with very comfortable beds. We had a big balcony too, with a partial view of the Acropolis. All good. However it is billed as a four star hotel and I'd say given the room is quite small and the facilities are limited (and a little dated (the TV in my room had to be 10 years old!)) I'd say this place is actually a three star by international standards. Great place and perfect location though!

Thank you for choosing us to spend your vacation in Athens and we are pleased you describe it as a "lovely hotel".

We are happy that you enjoyed the elements as the comfort of the beds or the breakfast quality, as well as the efficiency of our staff and convenience of our position in a beautiful residential neighborhood near the major archaelogical sights.

Thank you for mentioning the fact about the rating of our hotel, the Philippos Hotel is a THREE star hotel and we do not position it anywhere as one of a higher category. We really do not understand the reason of your impression however we are glad that our services rendered to you were perceived as coming from a four star hotel, we consider this misunderstanding as compliment.

It is important to us,as a family business to offer to you, as a guest, the genuine Greek Hospitality you felt in our elegant lounges. Our sister property hotel just a few meter of the Philippos is a four star hotel , the Herodion will welcome you with the same philosophy. Please check both sites for offers and packages and additional features.

Please contact us directly next time so we can make your next stay even more enjoyable! We look forward to welcoming you again for your next visit to Athens. Thank you for your review.

Our travel agent booked us to the Phillipos hotel in Athens saying the it is central, close to everything and hosted by the nicest people. And she was soooo right. Phillipos is a very clean and charming. People at the reception are very nice and helpfull. But what makes Phillipos to place to stay in Athens, is because it is close to everything. In front of the Archeological Museum, 2 minute walk to the Acropolis, 3 minute walk to the Plaka, subway station. If you ask for a room on the 5th floor, you'll have the view on the Acropolis. Don't forget to go on top of their twin sister Hotel Herodion, one street behind, there's a wonderfull terasse on top with the best view on the Acropolis, have a drink there at night for the "romanticest" evening of all !!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for 5th fllor, with view on Acropolis !!

My husband and I stayed for a five days visit to Athens for leisure and work. The hotel had an excellent location just few meters of Acropolis Museum and metro station. Quiet and safe neighborhood. Good services, clean and polite staff. Rather old furniture.
