Excellent hotel, Friendly and helpful staff, Breakfast with fresh fruits and excellent cafe.
Very clean and noisless. Near the Parthenon and the Musem. You can take the Metro and you may visit anyplace in Athens, for ex. You can combinate Metro and Tram for visiting all the coast af Athens , Glyfada for example.
If you are 65 years old then your ticket cost 1/2 price.
Taxi station is only 50 meters from the Hotel.

Room Tip: All the room are quit because av the location, very little trafic

Very close to its sister hotel The Herodian, The Philippos is rather tired and getting just a bit shabby. This is particularly apparent in the rooms which were small and in need of a refurb. The bathroom was cramped and the shaver point didn't work.

Room Tip: Pay a bit more and stay at the Herodian just around the corner.

Excellent place to stay with friendly and very helpful staff. Location is ideal if you are a tourist with the Acropolis Plaka and the Acroplis Metro just a short walk away. The New Acropolis Musem is even closer, at the end of the streeet!
Would recommend this hotel to anyone without any reservation.

The staff were friendly and helpful, giving maps and directions on check in. It was a straight walk up the road to the Acropolis and the new Acropolis museum and an easy walk to the restaurants of the Plaka area. The TV had some English programmes and everything was clean and comfortable. It was one of the cheapest hotels and we stayed 2 nights including early breakfast at 6.30 on our day of departure. I liked the small friendly feel, especially from the reception staff who always looked up and smiled when we returned to the hotel. Breakfast had a range of choices including fresh fruit, dried fruit, pastries, eggs, sausage etc etc Overall if you want a friendly, comfortable hotel at a good price in a brilliant position this is the one for you. If you want a bedroom as big as a ballroom then pay more and go elsewhere!

I am currently staying the last day of a three day stay, The hotel is ideally located to do your tours. Short walk to Acropolis, Athen day tours, Museum, and the fabulous food at Plaka district.
At night very quiet, from outside, and inside the hotel. breakfast is great with plenty of choices,
Great value. highly recommended, just has the perfect location.

Room Tip: Remember Museum closes Mondays, and you must be flexible with travel re:strikes which can happen any...

We stayed here on 2 separate occassions and found the staff to be particularly helpful. We arrived very early after a cruise (at 7;00am!) and were given a room which we found amazing as we should not have really checked in until after lunch with no extra charge. The location is amazing - walking distance to the New Museum, acropolis and best of all the Plaka.
The room was clean with a comfortable bed which is all we need when sightseeing. Fantastic!.

Phillipos has many advantages against competitors, such as: location (close museum and Acorpolis), view from rooms (Acropolis), reception (very nice people), good rates, breakfast (excellent), balconi (huge), cleaning, etc. However, its rooms and bathrooms are extremely small. The room we stayed in, 507 had 12m² and the bathroom about 3,6m². I'm 1.89 meters tall and was very hard to bathe in box. I suggest to the owners, expand the rooms and bathrooms reducing the size of the huge and unnecessary balcony existing.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with acropolis view. Donn´t have fitnees center and restaurant.
