We stayed here for 11 nights in August for a family holiday. Good location; 10 minute walk from the metro (4 stops to Monastiraki), reasonable taxis to good beaches. Staff are lovely and couldn't have been more welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Rooms, restaurant and common areas were clean and well maintained.

Room tip: We were on the 5th floor overlooking the main road and there was a bit of road noise - next time we would request a room at the back

We stayed in Zafolia Hotel for 5 nights at the end of August and from the moment we got there we had a great time.

The only downside is that we paid extra for an excutive suite which was a bit disappointing as it was smaller than expected and the free WiFi in the room had intermittent connectivity. However everything else was great. The room on the 7th floor had a big balcony which we didn't expect and the views of Lykavittos Hill and the mountains were lovely. The variety of toiletries provided was also great, as it included hair conditioner, a sewing kit, cotton buds and cotton discs, a nail file... all very thoughtful and handy things to have.

The breakfast buffet was full of variety to suit everyone: fresh fruit, juices, pastries, cheeses and hams, breads, cereals and the typical fried breakfast. The staff at the breakfast restaurant and at the pool bar were really friendly and welcoming and always had a smile on their face, however the staff at the reception desk were a bit robotic and not very helpful compared to the others.

The highlight of the hotel is definitely the pool area, which is small but never seems to get too overcrowded and it's a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing while enjoying the amazing views.

The access from the hotel to the airport and into the city centre was great as it's on a main road and there are always taxis driving by and it's only a 5€ trip into the city centre. There are nice terraces and tavernas only a 5 minute walk down the road and there are loads of nice little shops nearby.

We wouldn't hesitate to stay in this hotel again during our next trip to Athens.

Room tip: Ask for a room overlooking Lykavittos Hill

Zafolia hotel was the perfect accommodation for me and my family during our visit to Athens.

The hotel is conveniently located just a 10 min drive from the city center and taxis are cheap (5-6 euro) and easy to get on the street. It's on a busy road, but you can easily walk (10 min) to nice and authentic neighbourhoods, for example Exarchia square (dinner at Yanthes was excellent).

The family room was spacious, quiet, and conveniently located just one floor below the swimming pool. My kids loved the roof pool, which is small but perfect to relax after a busy day downtown. Breakfast was good, both Greek and continental, although the breakfast area has no windows. Wifi is free in the lobby and pool area, you have to pay for room wifi. The fitness room consists of nothing more than a bike and a run machine.

Last but not least, the hotel is staff deserves a huge thank you: at the reception desk, the breakfast area, the pool everybody was genuinely friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your extensive and positive review.

The Zafolia Staff team is delighted to have created such a positive experience for you.

Responding to your wish, we upgraded our system and we are happy to announce that, from now on, we provide free Wi-Fi, throughout the Hotel.

At the end, we would like to highlight that our Breakfast room has windows and natural daylight. Probably, you weren't given the opportunity to see our Breakfast room trhoughout.

Looking forward to welcoming you in our Athens Zafolia Hotel, sometime in the future.

Kind regards
Guest Relations Dpt.

Great hotel, excellent breakfast and service! The only downside is that it's not quite "walking distance" away from the city centre / flea market area. The Metro and "hop on/hop off" bus services are accessible from the area though. Excellent for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city

Very nice hotel, modern rooms and great staff!
The restaurant by the pool has an amazing view of the acropoli! And the restaurant inside (breakfast) has an amazing view as well.
The menu from the restaurant could be better because they have only a few options.
It took a little bit to do the check out and that was kind of annoying because they already had my credit card that they asked during the check in.
The reservation was non refundable and they charged my credit card before i got there. They could have wait because i was gonna pay in cash.
But very nice hotel and worth the money.
