There are a couple of cake stores throughout Athens.I visited the one in Herodotou (Kolonaki) with a couple of friends on a Saturday for a special event. Since there were 10 of us we got a table reserved two weeks before and even called on date to confirm.
Upon arriving there the place was completely full of people and the table they had kept for us along with seats could never possibly host 10 people. Two of us had to even wait for a couple of seats to get free, and considering how in the end only 8 people showed up and we barely managed to fit in the table, I can safely say that it would have been impossible for us to be seated had there been 10.
The shop keeper said that actually they couldn’t really reserve tables, and it was hard to keep that one for us. I just wish we have been told that beforehand, instead of finding it out at that time.
Other than this, the staff is friendly but also kind of slow to accommodate when the place is full.
As for the menu, most of the things we bought (velvet cake, banoffee, lemon cake, chocolate cake) were very tasty and the price, while not expensive was not cheap either (ex. one piece of velvet cake costs about 5 euro while you can find same quality and quantity for 2,50 elsewhere)
The place itself is cute, with nice displays for the cakes though I've heard that the one in Glyfada is better looking. Considering how the theme of the place is supposed to be cute, i found the music a bit too loud and kind of irrelevant.
Would I visit again? I might if i am passing by, but surely not on a Saturday
