If you are a foodie, the Funky Gourmet is an absolute must do. Three of us managed to get their last table on the night before they closed for a summer break and what a treat is was. We enjoyed Menus 1+2. This is a two Michelin star resto where playfulness, creativity and taste all come together in a relaxed, non-fussy environment. I can close my eyes and still remember every taste of that exceptional meal. Standouts include the lobster, picnic, lanb chop, Shaby-shabu....actually too many to list. I would go back in a heartbeat if In Athens again. If you are a foodie, make the trek, you won't be disappointed.

The best restaurant in Athens. One can get sick of feta cheese and greek salads in Greece, but their greek salad "sorbet" is out-of-this-world. We had the tasting menu with pairings and everything went together incredibly well. It's difficult to explain the food, it needs to be experienced first hand. Should be on everyone's to-do list in Athens. Only negative is the location-a little difficult to find. Taxi driver had no idea he could drive on the street in front of the restaurant and there are no signs in front.

This restaurant certainly deserves its highest praise. Much has been said about it, we just can confirm it, also our two boys aged 10 and 12 were more than happy. The food, the presentation and the staff everything wonderful. We enjoyed the evening and it will certainly for long be remembered. Again many thanks. And indeed we needed our own GPS in order to guide our taxi driver to the place.

Booking is essential for this restaurant, but this was easily accomplished by email from the UK. You can book up to 30 days in advance. You also need to reconfirm the day before, which again I did by email.

Our arrival at the restaurant was a little unnerving. Our taxi driver felt it was an unsafe area and insisted on getting out of the car and escorting us to the door and waiting to see us safely admitted. Quite often we like to walk to restaurants and if we arrive early, to sit in a local cafe. This may not be one to do that with if you like to do the same.

However, once inside, it was fantastic. The dining room is on the small side but tables are well spaced. It is light and airy and a comfortable setting for the theatre that follows - and it certainly is theatre, with some dishes having truly dramatic entrances.

This is not a case of style of substance though - the food is both delicious and thought-provoking. Who knew you could pair cured fish roe with chocolate?

We went for the largest tasting menu, but because portions were bite sized, it was perfectly manageable. All the courses were good, but some were favourites (the scallop, the lamb chop and the langoustine I think, but very hard to choose!)

I only wanted a couple of drinks with my meal rather than the full wine pairing and they were most helpful in making suitable selections.

A really good night out and one that will linger in the memory. This place richly deserves the 2 Michelin stars it holds and we would love to return.
