“Tasty! If you have the opportunity, you should try!”

This restaurant is easy to find, it is really close to the Acropolis museum. We stopped there for a late lunch and we were really glad that we did it! We ordered a greek salad, that was freshly made seasoned with a tasty olive oil. We also ordered tomatoes and green peppers stuffed with rice and herbs that were amazing too! And what to say about the moussaka? Tasty and delicious! If you have the opportunity, you should try!

“beyond all expectation!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2014

A small family-run restaurant in a great spot, close to the Acropolis museum.

Every winter, usually at Januray, I'm visiting Athens. I truely love the greek food and I'm afraid it is not easy to find decent restaurant that will serve something more than Tsaziki, Gyros and etc.

That's what make this place so special. It's not fancy, buy very clean and super friendly. This is a family-run restaurant - you won't find the typical greek waiter that invites to visit his place, you won't find live music, but you will find the best home-style-cooking greek food and the a great service as well.

This is the kind of places that TripAdvisor was created for, the kind of gem that you find and you feel so lucky.

I ate probably every dish they have and it's all wonderfull!

The place is not fancy, but the food is very good and prices are reasonable. Restaurant does not take credit cards. I got a delicious lamb plate and service was great.

“Nice traditional cafe”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2014

Bear in mind Katiallo is a traditional café not a restaurant, you just choose from what mama has cooked that day, just like back in the 70's, also grilled meats and fish. We asked if she had stuffed peppers and she said no, but come back tomorrow, which we did and they were great. We ate well there three times and never spent more than 23 euros for two including house wine. Probably better for lunch than dinner but the food was good and inexpensive.
