“No-frills Greek”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

This cosy restaurant right behind the Acropolis Museum is a must if you want to taste home-style Greek cooking. For our dinner, the mother and father shared the cooking between them while the son meets and greets and serves. The food was plentiful and tasty and the service was impeccable and friendly. The son's English is perfect, which helps if you don't speak Greek. There were seven other diners when we arrived, but in the next twenty minutes, another six arrived. Most were locals and some were locals bringing their tourist friends. No greater recommendation needed. The restaurant's prices are super-modest. We'd have paid at least 50% more than we were charged.

“Nice Simple Food, Try for Lunch”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

This restaurant is a cafeteria style where the food is already prepared and you order at the counter then wait for the food to arrive at your table. The food was quite good and the service was very friendly. Our meals were not as fresh as we would have liked, but I think its because we went for dinner. I would suggest you go for lunch as the food would be more recently prepared. Very inexpensive though, so good value. I think its excellent for backpackers or those on a lower budget.

If you want the real Greek experience have a meal here. Simple, honest hospitality. Eat with the family. Prices are simply too low. Great place.

“Wholesome, delicious food, excellent service.”
Reviewed January 23, 2013 via mobile

The food was home-cooked and delicious. Service was attentive and very quick. Very relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Basic decor and surroundings, but an inexpensive option while sightseeing, for those who like authentic Greek food.

“If you want a fancy dinner don't go. To kati allo is totally something else”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

Kostas is the owner of this taverna (small restaurant). His English is very good (his wife is American) and his conversation can be marvelous if he's in a good mood. The guy is around 35 and you can talk with him about politics, literature (Pamuk or Hemingway both are in his menu) or greek's mentality. About the food? A honest one. The pork roast was very good, tzatziki is genuine and the wine was on the house for me. When I didn't like a vegetable traditional meal, they came and asked me to be frank about it and when I told them that it's not my taste, they changed it immediately with something else. The real truth about this place: I stayed 3 days in a hotel near To Kati Allo and each day I took my lunch there.
