I've been there 4-5 times. Several nice dishes, excellent muffin-like bread, nice place. Has a yard in the back.

We hang out to this place very often and I consider it the best option if you happen to roam around Exarhia. This is the most interesting area in Athens, not a normal touristic attraction, but very vibrant and youthful (equivalent to Camden in London, Transtevere in Rome, Monmarte in Paris etc).

The restaurant is great. The food is Mediterranean, mostly Spanish, with tapas and sangria (try the strawberry!). The cocktails are awesome (happy hour 6-9!) and the service very helpful and welcoming.

I am vegetarian and for me the choice of restaurants in Athens is a little bit limited but this one is the best. Almost half of the tapas are vegetarian so we get plenty of choice.

I have been there a lot and all the time the food is great and the price acceptable (it is not cheap by no means). Expect to pay around 20 euros with house wine. The bottled wine is not outrageously expensive as usual in Athens (starting from 14 euros).

The place is beautifully decorated and colorful. There is a garden in the back that is nice, but when is packed non-smokers may find it annoying (too much smoke).

TIP: I noted that recently they started offering launch menu for around 12 euros (Spanish style!)

I got to this restaurant by chance, while walking around in Exarchia. The place atmosphere is very pleasant but the food is expecially tasty. Really worthy!

I had never been in Salero before and the reason of the visit was an invite by a friend, which lives in the area. This restaurant - bar is situated in the center of Athens, well-hidden in a small pedestrian road, very close to the Exarheia square. Entering the place we felt welcome, but when we reached the back yard we became really happy, as it is cute, with plenty of room, colorful and relaxing.
Athough the menu seems (and it is) Spain oriented, remains close to the mediterranean/greek flavours and offers many options. We shared a mexican burrito, stuffed with chicken and peppers, a salad of parmesan nest with corn and chicken, the traditional paela and two mains (ribeye and pork fillet), plus one Creme Catalana. The total bill was EUR 70 (1 lt of house wine included), which seems a little bit up the normal, but I must admit that we left tottally full, as the protions are more than big! Everything we tasted was very well cooked and full of taste, so nothing left on the plate! The main, had great quantity of meat and sides (smashed potatoes or grilled vegetables) as the flesh pieces were above 300gr for each... And taste, presentation and mixing of flavors, pouring of the sauces, was just excellent!
Coming to the end, I have to say that I will soon revisit this restaurant, which I totally recommend as a great option, if you are in the area for tasting different but delicious dishes.
