“Tough to figure out, but great once you do”
Reviewed May 4, 2013

We could not seem to figure out where it was. Every guide book said this was the place to go for nightlife but when we wandered towards the area on the map from Monastiraki we honestly got a little scared. At first glance it seems like a seedy area. But once you wander up into the area you realize it is a nice safe area where the locals go at night. Tons of bars with live music and a lot of fun.

“A small island in Athens!”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

I love the fact that Psyrri is full of small and cozy places to have a coffee, snack or drink. If you avoid some irrationally expensive ones, you will have a great time there!

“The alternative side of athens”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

Interesting mainly during night-time, here you can find the youth and the alternative population of the city, enjoying a drink and preparing for moving on to the next disco/pub. With monastiraki just around the corner , food shops every 200 meters and bars/pubs/discos scattered all over the place, you can spend hours doing peoplewatching

“Lost its character”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

When Psiri first emerged in the Athenian night scene, the novelty it brought with it was the rough edges of a decadent post-industrialised end of town. In the early 90's, it boasted few but excellent restaurants, bars, theatres. As time went by, the new additions became less eclectic. Psiri is still a fun place to be but, unfortunately, has lost most of its character & when gets so v. crowded, reminds me more of an amusement park.

“Worth a look!”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

It is worth a stroll around the small streets and look around the restaurants, bars and cafes. Lots of shops are open until the early morning. However these past years it is more worth to visit Gazi (which is a short walking distance away), as it has become the more popular place now.
