“IS THERE ANY OTHER ?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

Best place to stay in Athens for sure as soon as you can afford it....beautiful room (and marble bath) with a gorgeous view on the parliament, great indoors and outdoors pools, lovely rooftop bar, good restaurants whether rooftop or downstairs by the Alexander bar.
Lots of nice help from majordome Yannis who also speaks fluently French.
An excellent stay, nicely combined with visits by Keytours, a great location walking distance from most interesting sites.A real must.

Room Tip: Get a view it's worth the extra.

Grand luxurious hotel. Our favorite place was the top floor and terrace restaurant and bar. Food was good, but the breakfast buffet was exceptional. The view of the Acropolis was very moving! Staff were all very attentive and professional.

We stayed for 4 nights in this magnificent hotel and would never choose to stay anywhere else in Athens.

The hotel is extremely central overlooking Syntagma Square and the parliament buildings. The hotel itself is elegant, decadent and has a traditional yet contemporary feel to it. We stayed on the 7th floor and opening the window doors every morning to pure sunshine and the spectacular view was simply breathtaking. We were lucky enough to have an upgrade and the room was absolutely beautiful.....luxurious linen, soft bed, gorgeous bathroom with fluffy towels and dressing gown fresh everyday, what more could you want?

The rooftop restaurant is a must. Breakfast was amazing, everything you could possibly want while watching the spectacular views over Athens. We tried other bars around the hotel and the food, service, setting etc were stunning. The wine list is exceptional. The spa was really something! Please make sure you spend some time relaxing here, the staff were formidable and a huge array of treatments to choose from. Slight downside was that the jacuzzi didn't seem to work when we were there but it didn't bother us in the slightest.

I thoroughly recommend this hotel for your stay in Athens, we had a memorable time and can't wait to go back!

I had a good recent stay at this property. It is older and quite elegant, with a wonderful rooftop restaurant (lunch and dinner were significantly better than breakfast), and a great pool and poolside bar. The Spa was great as well! After 5 days in Athens, from the looks of things, this and the sister hotel (King George) are probably the two best Athens has to offer in the downtown area.

Room Tip: Outside facing rooms offer significantly better views than the courtyard facing rooms!

The location for this hotel is wonderful. I paid extra to have a view of the Acropolis which is amazing. The room was lovely, the staff helpful, but our wifi (that we paid for) wouldn't work in our rooms with our phones.

The food is tasty the views magnificent.

I was going to Athens on a business trip and I asked a colleague who had been there before to recommend a hotel. I wanted somewhere central as I had meetings all over the city.
The building itself is spectacular, and really gives a great first impression of the hotel. Most of the staff are exceptionally friendly especially one of the doormen who was very amused at my poor pronunciation where I wanted the taxi to. He was great and actually phoned one of the offices to ensure he could give the taxi driver the correct details of where I wanted to go.
Breakfast is upstairs in the rooftop restaurant with great views of the city. The selection of food in the breakfast buffet was very good, I didn't ask if there was anything you could order directly from the kitchen.
My room was on the sixth floor overlooking the Parliament building. I had a lovely balcony but never got the chance to sit out in the sun. There was an endless supply of big fluffy bath towels which I loved. I also loved the fact that there was a proper powerful hair dryer that you could sit in front of the mirror and use (my pet hate are the terrible hair dryers attached to a bathroom wall that have no power at all).
I ate in the ground floor restaurant one night. Lovely ambience but quite expensive. One afternoon, I had sometime to kill before my next meeting so I ordered a pot of tea and some apple tart. The tart was half tart half crumble and was absolutely delicious. Compared to what a bland coffee and cake costs in the likes of Starbucks, I thought it was very good value.
Due to the location of the hotel, opposite the parliament, you can expect some disruption in the flow of traffic in the surrounding area due to protesters. However the hotel staff will go out of their way to ensure you get to where you need to go.
I recommend booking directly on the hotel website and it has some great offers e.g. I stayed for 4 nights but only paid for 3.
I will definitely be back.

Excellent hotel, in the heart of the city centre. Very good service and furnitures up to expectations. The breakfast room / bar on the roof top in front of the acropolis is remarkable. Unfortunately my stay was just for one night.
