Overall impression: This is a luxury hotel. Well appointed and maintained. It's best feature is its location. It is close to all the major attractions. The Plaka is within walking distance. The subway station is right next to the building.

Rooms: We are a family of four visiting Athens during summer of 2011. We booked two standard double rooms. The rooms are richly furnished, but quite small. At more than $1000 per night per room, I expected at least a view. What we got is a view of the back window of another hotel room. The TV is still the old style CRT and the remote didn't work. Since I don't watch TV, it is not worth complaining about.

Service: Other than check in/check out, I didn't much direct contat with the staff. Some of staff I passed in the hall way greeted me, others ignored me.

Facilities: the underground pool is outstanding. Clean, cool, and inviting. The outdoor pool on the other hand, was underwhelming.

Breakfast: Excellent, if pricey, breakfast buffet on the rooftop with a view of the Acropolis. Excellent service, good variety of food.

Internet: At rates this hotel charges, internet really should be included. We used the 10 euro a day WiFi. Signal was weak, and speed slow. Random disconnects. There are four free internet terminals next to the lobby. But more often than not, they are already occupied by other guests.

Conclusion: This is a very good hotel. But at $1k a night, I expected more. I would seriously consider coming back in the future, provided I can get a significantly better deal on room rates.

This is by far the best hotel in Athens. Breakfast on the roof provides the best view of the city and acropolis. The breakfast was also fantastic. The place is beautiful and in a great location. We were able to walk to pretty much everything we wanted to do. The staff was very helpful and helped us get to the right restaurant each night that suited our mood and hunger! When you stay here you feel like royalty. We had a long wait for our room on arrival but the hotel manager gave me a free night stay in points after we voiced our concern.

Ladies and gentleman. What can I say?! For me one of the best hotels !!!! Excellent service, smiling, helpful , professional. Great food in restaurant on top floor. Try the rib eye steak and some Greek specials in brasserie on ground level. Really liked the bread choice in restaurants and at b'fast buffet. Impressive Christmas decorations all over the hotel. Cigar Lounge, wine cellar . Pure Luxury and distinctive atmosphere in lobby. Hotel is not cheap but this guarantee you good companion around...I only do not understand the ranking on TA

A fabulous hotel in almost every way, but the Internet access is cumbersome and expensive. You must choose wired access at 18 euros a day or wireless at 10 euros a day...per device. If you set up your own router to accommodate multiple devices wirelessly from the Ethernet connection, you then do not have wireless access in the restaurant! So...next time, I will insist on free Internet with the room rate, or stay elsewhere. Luxury hotels should include Internet access in the room rate...charging extra is like charging for a pillow!

I regularly travel to Athens, and always save my Starwood points to stay in this property. Sure the location is fabulous, and yes, the rooms are grand, perfect, old world comfortable, the Spa is known throughout the world, and deserves its' reputation. The quality of goods, finishes, and that oh so fabulous Starwoods bedding is all great. The number one thing that sets this hotel apart is the staff. The efforts of Eri, Despina and George, as well as every employee that we encountered was so warm..so respectful, and helpful. Nothing was a problem. Hats off to management of this fine property, you have earned your fine reputation and our loyalty for years to come...keep up the outstanding effort..it is difficult to cultivate genuine warmth and hospitality...hope we see you all again soon!

I didn't love it as much as I thought I was going to. It is obviously has all of the amenities of a high-class hotel. Let me also say that we typically don't stay in high-end hotels so we might have been expecting something more. The feel is great (it has a historical luxurious vibe) and the location is touristy good- you can see the changing of the guards at Parliament from your window and it is right next to to the Plaka, which is the area with the typical tourist shops and quasi-authentic restaurants.

The spa/indoor pool is wonderful. Very nice pool and well-attended to. They have robes and towels and flip-flops waiting for you and it is designed beautifully. By far my favorite part of the hotel.

Overall, the hotel seemed expensive-like they have nice place to eat right off the lobby but afternoon tea is 29euro (40 dollars) a person. Same with breakfast- it would be about 30 euro a person to eat at their rooftop restaurant with the view. So, some of the major attractions are added on to the price and are really kind of neccessary to take advantage of the hotel. If you don't do those things, you could stay somewhere much cheaper.

We also were on the 7th floor, which has its own butler but we couldn't really figure out what they were good for. They are there primarily for concierge services but the main concierge is no less convenient to get to and is just as good.

Overall, it is nice but in ourcase it wasn't really worth the extra money- I didn't see much value added by spending that much.

This a very comfortable and affordable hotel. Its location is perfect. Good clean sized rooms with excellent amenities. Staff were very pleasant and helpful . Our room rate included breakfast and so we felt we had a very good deal. The view of the Acropolis is breathtaking. Coffee and tea was available all day! I would highly recommend this hotel!
