It is ok, expected more but worthly. Expected more of BC era.
Think lot of things are unnecessary. It should be cheaper.

Benaki museum is in a beautiful building in Kolonaki area and it has collections of paintings, jewelry, everyday objects, costumes and furniture- nicely organized and exhibited in 4 floors. The museum shop doesn't have many things or books in English, mostly only Greek. There is one restaurant and it was full at lunchtime.

Got in for free as we are students but probably would have been worth the €6 regardless. Laid out chronologically which made it easy to follow, absolutely packed full of artefacts, textiles, paintings, etc so lots to take in content wise. Probably the most glamorous museum I’ve ever been to, but felt very serene and relaxed. Spent about an hour and a half but there are 3 floors so it could easily be a whole morning/afternoon excursion. Overall was a nice place to spend some time while in Athens :)

I was a bit disappointed as our guide said this was the best museum in Athens. It isn't by a long way.

A very random and indiscriminate collection with no real Wow! exhibits. I nearly always post a pic with my reviews but there wasn't anything worth taking.

This museum is not just statues and vases but has an interesting display of costumes and jewellery as well. Visit on a Thursday when it is fee to enter.
