Reasonably priced; take money. Good way of spending time and gaining knowledge of historical facts. Easy to get to and tour. Would recommend.

“Propably the most compleet museum for Ancient Greece”
Reviewed December 24, 2013

This museum is situated in the center of Athens and it's very easy to go there. It has a marvellous collection of Ancient Greek objects like pottery, statues, juwellery and of course, the famous Antikythira Mechanism, the first computer ever! The collection's objects come from all over Greece and cover a very big time era of Ancient Greece.I can say that I was very satisfied from the variety and the quallity of the collection...!
I visited the museum on November 2013 and I didn't like the fact that some parts of the collection were closed because of stuff shortage (due to the crisis...).I didn't like also the 'parallel' modern art exhibition.I think that the modern art pieces that were exhibited there don't match with the Ancient Greek culture.I find this as a totally wrong idea!

This is possibly one of the best archaeological museums in the world, and the exhibits here are outstanding. (Annotations in Greek and English!)
