We arrived early to beat the crowds and avoid some of the heat. We climbed up the slope to the entrance and we're delighted to find a short line to enter. We then ascended the stairs to the main attractions. In addition to the remains in this area, there are several scenic overlooks. With so many steps, mobility issues would be if concern, however we did see a couple come up on the lift. The signs are a bit sparse on information so I'd suggest reading ahead or bringing some basic map with brief info would be a good idea. One warning- the ground is very uneven and the ricks can be quite slippery - wear good shoes with treads. Plan on at least 1.5 hours here for a quick tour and longer if you're planning to climb up the hills for more views.

Stunning views of the city from the acropolis, try do early in the morning we went midday and the heat was unreal. If venturing up to the acropolis wear good shoes/runners the walk ways can be fairly slippy. Also bring water as it is a good walk up and down. A must see in Athens!!

It's hard to believe this was built so long ago when Northern Europe was practically Neanderthal! The site of so many magnificent structures! Disabled access by lift. Quite a trek to get up there on often slippery marble paving.

What can one possibly say about living history? Walking around and viewing the buildings and features of the Acropolis is an experience that cannot be described. Should be on everyones bucket list.

Once in Athens, you can't miss this place. You will go back in the history of the ancient greek civilization, the greek mythology an interesting and must see attraction.

Tip:
As it's a long full day walk through all the site, take some water and snacks with you (you can find only one refreshing store outside the site, with no enough resources...)
