Obe of thereat wonders of the world. Absolutely beautiful monument and breathtaking how beautifully it was built and it's architecture. makefile you visit on an sunny day and early in the morning as the ticket you buy costs 12 euros but it includes other archaeological sites you can visit on the same day and it makes it a good value for money.

One of the finest historic places worldwide. The temple was used as a gunpowder storage room by Turks during an attack by Venetians. A shell hit the temple and turn it into wreck. Until then (about 200 years ago) the temple was in fine condition as it was made 2500 years ago. For there you got an excellent view of Athens area

It's under restoration. Everything is roped off with scaffolding and a large crane in the way of views, so the experience is not great. It's still a must see in Athens.

Took the hop on and hop off bus and this was one of the hop offs. The bus is good value for money but start early. The Acropolis is amazing - wear comfy shoes and make sure you have your camera. The view of Athens from there is spectacular. The 2 downsides - one of which cant be helped is the scaffolding as there are restoration works. The other which annoyed me is that there is a lift that can get you to the top. As I suffer from arthritis in hips and knees I asked if I could go uo on the lift but was told I either had to have a disabled badge or be in a wheelchair. Luckily thee are benches and sitdown spots at regular intervals.

Wear your most comfortable shoes. It involves a lot of climbing on rough surfaces but its all worth it. To walk this great archeological ruin is a dream come true. The view of the city on a clear day is fantastic. The Parthenon is one of the most magnificent sight i have ever seen. One less on my Bucket List.
