“Wow! 8th wonder of the world.”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

The scale and beauty of this ancient monument is staggering.
If you are thinking it is something that you can skip, be assured that you would be wrong. In addition to the ruins within, it possesses amazing views of Athens and surroundings.

Entering the acropolis was like walking into the seat of the gods. Enough said, everything else has been said by others already.

My wife and I have visited the Acropolis on past visits to the Athens, however the work that has been to improve the entrance and the restoration to the ruins, are magnificent. This is the first time we took our 2 boys and they were both amazed at how old the ruins were and the sheer size - take the time and go in the morning, where it is not as hot, bring lots of water and enjoy the view. Please careful as you walk, as the stones are slippery. Bring your camera and takes lots of pictures!

“What a centrepiece for the city.”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

The walk up to the top is interesting, and the details provided at various points along the way very informative. The site at the top of the climb is wonderful and the views stunning. A lot of work has been done since my last visit about 3 years ago, and a lot more is to come. The stones can be very slippery underfoot and even in the most sensible shoes can be treacherous, but it's so worth it. Breathtaking. Amazing to think how many people have walked the same steps for how many years.

“SPECTACULAR and magnificent experience!!”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

A must-see when you visit Athens!! Wear comfortable, flat and non-slippery shoes because it's quite rocky and some flat and polished marble areas can be slippery a times. Also, bring a good camera to take pictures of the site :day or night or both. Hat is highly recommended in case it's in summer. Take a tour guide with you to better understand the facts. It can get quite crowded at times but there are some places where you can take good pictures with you and this wonder of the world. 3/4 view is best.

LAST THING: Pray that it will recover from the crisis so that reconstruction works can speed up and that we can see it in its full glory very soon.
