Smile cafe contributes to the printing of free tourist maps around Athens and that way they advertise their cafe; clever marketing! Anyway, that's how we found it, it is located near he Acropolis and Athens Gate hotel where we were staying.

On this occasion, in Winter, this restaurant was very quiet but in Summer I imagine it would be packed. Prices here were good and service was efficient and very friendly. For 10euros I got a Greek salad, seafood pasta and glass of red house wine which was great. This was part of their 'Crisis Menu' which takes after the steep financial downturn Greece is experiencing. The waitress was very friendly and kept smiling. I also tried the baklava for desert; delicious!

This restaurant is amazing. The location is great, a little garden area. Service is great, probably best in europe. Food is sooo good and extremly reasonably priced. We really love lamb and they had great meals and they were alwaus great. We ate here every day. I cannot say enough good about this place. Its a must if you are in athens!

We have visited the restaurant because saw its TripAdvisor rating and had a good lunch there.

As distinguished from many local places, this restaurant has English speaking stuff and client-oriented service. They have also free wifi with a good speed. So, being tourists, we felt quite comfortable there.

The food was good. There are other places where the price/quality ratio is better than here, but if you want to have good English speaking service in addition to the food itself, this place is certainly worth to consider.

We are travelling students and are always looking for a cheap bite. We didn't find this hard in Athens. This restaurant was particularly special though. The service was phenomenal (possibly because we were the only customers apart from a few locals) and the food was very tasty and great value. In line with other reviews, you're best to go for the crisis menu. My boyfriend had a greek salad, bread, bottled water and an entire grilled squid (which was delicious!). I had fresh moussaka which was amazing and the owners own recipe, along with salad and water. We also got 1l of house wine. Although quite full, you don't give up the opportunity to eat authentic greek desserts when you're at a place like this. The greek donuts and baklava were divine. The hostess loves Aussies too, she was showing us all the gifts she has been sent from Aus by grateful customers. She even put a koala on our wine pitcher. Overall a very pleasant experience for only 44 euro!
