What a pleasure staying at this hotel. Even though it is about 300m from Syntagma Square where protests were going on we didn't experience any inconveniences. Our room was lavishly decorated and spotlessly clean. Big bathroom and a dream of a shower. Breakfast was the best of all our Europe stays with everything you could imagine, there was more than enough to even satisfy a big South African appetite used to a big meaty breakfast. The staff was friendly and the service excellent. The porter was everywhere and always available, when in doubt you can be sure to look about and he will be around to help out. This hotel is in the middle of the Plaka, in the Heart of Athens and we walked everywhere we wanted.

Great hotel which I highly recommed and will definately use next time in Athens. And was a steal at the price.

The hotel was pretty swanky and close to everything. The breakfast was good too!

Room Tip: Each room is different! Its is my style!

We went to Athens on a last minute trip and called the hotel to check availability. The staff were very nice and offered us a discounted rate in one of the double rooms in the diamond plus block across the street from the main hotel. When we checked in we got a further discount by paying in full upfront. The design of the hotel is modern, lavish but tasteful. The Room we stayed in was all white with a huge beautiful crystal chandelier. The bed was super comfortable with both feather and synthetic pillows. In the room there is also a safe, empty fridge with 2 bottle of complementary water and free wifi which worked perfectly. The shower was one of those ones with multiple jets aiming at different parts of your body and was amazing! The breakfast was excellent and the lady who runs the breakfast is very sweet and could not be more helpful! The breakfast buffet was excellent and even had a smoothie bar, fresh crepe pancakes and a microwave for families. All in all, whenever I go to Athens I will try stay at this lovely little boutique hotel.

Room Tip: Room 109 in the new block is one of the all white wedding dress rooms

We stayed in the building across the street in a deluxe double. Very nice size compared to euro stds. All white and gold decor nicely detailed classical moldings. Nice sized comfortable bed and bedding..not twins put together! We were in a corner room with 2 small balconies. This was a perfect location for exploration of Plaka on foot. The breakfast was very fresh and had a nice selection. There is juicer for fresh squeezed OJ and always fresh greek yogurt and the best fresh feta ever. Both hot and cold selections. Knowing that we would be spending the days touring the city, museums, Plaka, and Acropolis, we were looking for a very comfortable generously sized room with some style and comfort. We were not looking for a large hotel with extra amenities. This hotel was a gem. Yes the elevators are tiny 2 people max. They have wireless Internet for the rooms. Also a small computer lounge near main entrance. Would definitely stay here again if in Athens. Probably best for couples.

Room Tip: Corner suites more windows and light. Higher floors quieter. Don't forget to completely shut win...

This hotel went way above and beyond our expectations. We paid 100 euros for one night here. We stayed in the newer building across the street. The interior was designed with luxurious mirrors everywhere, even in the elevators. The lights were made to look like crystal diamonds, and even the hallways were carpeted with a gray-white shag rug. Very glitzy indeed!

Our room was even more spectacular! There was a huge chandelier in the room, a very modern bathroom with a stand-up glass shower and multiple surround-shower sprays, and the bed was large (King, I think) with a flat screen tv. Again, the diamond-looking decor really made it feel like you were a Greek goddess!

The hotel management was extremely friendly. We arrived from the airport at around 10 am, unsure if we'd be able to check-in already. Our room was already ready, so they gave us the key and let us drop off our things. Even better, the front desk receptionist allowed us to eat breakfast, which was open only until 10:30. We essentially had two free breakfasts for just staying the one night.

The breakfast was AMAZING! There was fresh fruit, a fresh juicer-machine, Greek yogurt, European cold cuts, pastries, crepes, American-style hot breakfast, eggs, etc. For the price of the room, plus the fact that we could have that breakfast two days in a row, we really felt we got our money's worth.

The hotel is in a fabulous location, only a few blocks from the main Parliament building and square in downtown Athens. The major tourist sites (Pathenon, Acropolis, Panatheniac Stadium, Park, etc.) are all within walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Athens. It's a real treat, and the decor and the delicious breakfast really make it a highlight.

Room Tip: Choose the newer addition across the street, if you don't mind crossing the street to get to bre...

We were told there wasn't a room for us despite our reservation. The strikes in Athens that day had caused flights to be cancelled, so many guests didn't check out as planned. If I had been one of those guests, I would have been very grateful to the hotel for extending my reservation. For us, they arranged a room in a nearby hotel and personally escorted us there. This was fine since we were only in Athens one night. The next time I'm in Athens, I'll try again to stay at the Athens Diamond Hotel. But we won't return to Greece until the strikes have stopped. It's too unpredictable at the moment.

We stayed in the expansion across the street, which was perfect for us. The room was small, but very modern. The styling was questionable, but comfy, modern, and the wi-fi worked great. The elevators are typical Europe small, so luggage might take a couple trips if you have a lot. Breakfast was very good. If you are staying here, definitely have be able to find the hotel on a map. We got turned around a couple of times. Also, taxi drivers will know the main street, but not the side street the hotel is on.
